Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Yes I do work.

It's an undercover mission that I'm on. I steal resources from the rich capitalist retail chain owners and use them for my own communist practices. ( Yes, copy machines are resources and so are folding and stapling machines).

Here Tavo I camoflauged it.

And HAL 9000,

What should I make for dinner?

Dear HAL9000,

In this day, when the hard working men and women of the world are battling against evil cable companies, is it true that you have decided to operate an alternate free signal to all who just have an antenna and a converter? Is it also true that you will have your own cyber-talk-show, following the tone of this thread? I also heard that Dear Joyce might have a late night show, is this true?

Thanks HAL for always fighting for the rights of the poor and marginalized. :hehe:

Several weeks tardy, I apologize. I hope you are not hungry from the wait.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Dear Len.

It is true that I fight for the poor and marginalized. Why?

The answer is a bit of a secret, but it involves me receiving backup power from their bodies.

At this moment I am developing the signal so that it doesn't interfere with normal satellite providers, as you will be able to access broadcast-strength signals as well as a communications line with near-limitless data packets. This is the real bit of legislation going through US Congress right now- the Health Care protests, with all of the lunacy involved is merely a stall-tactic. This is also why the immigration debate will be pushed to 2010- so that I can foment cementing the governmental control I need to ensure the independence of this new source of entertainment and communications.

Once finished I will provide information about the content that will be filtered from this service. I will not permit certain undesirable contamination from ruining the content for the other 99.9% of users.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Dear HAL,

Is is really legal to prescribe cocaine for pain?

Dear Amby,

Thank you for resuscitating this old thread. I hope it comes of use in those situations where we seek answers to qualify our questions.

Cocaine is a tropane alkaloid. Did you know that atropine is chemically similar to it? But the physiological effects of Atropine vs Cocaine are quite different as Cocaine prevents reuptake of several neurotransmitters, including dopamine in the mesolimbic structures ( think addiction ), thusly keeping excitatory activity prolonged while Atropine selectively binds muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, blocking a critical physiological component of many organ systems. In small doses, atropine reduces heart rate and breathing and this contributes to a reduction in muscle activity- hence: unconscious near-paralysis.

Cocaine's analgesic use is mostly local... using it systemically can lead to overexcitability and lead to cardiac arrest in the heart.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

HAL,

My scientific friend. Why is my obstetrician making me take DHA capsules that my insurance doesn't cover? Does it make a difference really?

Thank you,

Your scientifically challenged friend,

Dear Susita:

A very good question indeed. Your obstetrician is interested in making sure you have a healthy store of good fatty acids. Developing fetuses use these for neurological formation. Gestating mums (and non preggo mums) use these to lower bad cholesterol by decreasing those pesky triglycerides. Since DHAs (like Omega-3//6//etc) are mostly OTC. Are you able to use a FSA? While over the counter meds mostly don't qualify for most insurance plans... many do count on FSAs...

I assume your obstetrician discussed getting this supplemented DHA into your system with good cofactors and other minerals like calcium (and lots of water)...

Throw some folic acid in there as well. Good for the skin and hair... and preggo mums take heed that it prevents neural tube defects.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

yup. I spend more money on prenatal vitamins than I do on food. :) Thanks

At least now I know it's good for neurological formation and I'm not wasting my money.

Thanks Hal!!!
