Everything was great. They asked me just a few questions. They wished to see the photos but nothing else from the huge bag of proof i brought to the interview :) The CO said they will send me the visa via DHL and I will have it by the end of the week. If everything is ok I am flying next Monday. YAYYYY. It was not a big deal at all. if you wish more info i filled out a detailed review.

Hello Mike & Miche. Thank you for the good words. Our attorney contacted me and said that he fixed the problem back in December. Apparently my name was wrong on NOA1 too (i didn't know that). I guess that's why we had touch in December. Anyway he said he will send me the document showing them acknowledging the correct spelling. I have no idea why they misspelled it wrong again on NOA2. I hope this won't cause any problems with the interview. Wish me luck

In order to find out the dates NVC received and sent your file to the consulate you have to call them at this number 603 334-0700. We waited a week after the e-mail from CRIS before we called. Actually I called them trough my computer (voip). It took like 5 minutes. You need your case number, and the birthdates of you and your fiance(e). They told me when it was sent and I asked them when it was recieved by them. I was so happy they've sent it so fast that I forgot to ask about our new case number and tracking number for DHL. I was able to find an old thread here in VJ that explain how to track the package from NVC to the consulate. (the trick with EXP MM/DD/YYYYA ). That was all. 2 days later I received packet 3.

Good luck to all of you :)

Hello to all my fellow November filers. Well, I contacted the NVC shortly ago to get a status on the approved petition for processing to the local consulate....the words "Additional Processing" were mentioned. ACK.

From everything I have read here on VJ, this can cause a substantial delay. But, I dont want to get her and I in a bad state of mind, so was wondering if any of you might have input on whether my understanding of the Additional Processing status is something to not be too concerned about. The NVC notification hard copy was dated April 20th (one week ago), so it hasnt been too long since they received from the VSC. But again, considering many of the other VJ'ers timelines of quick turnarounds from the NVC, I am a bit concerned.

Thoughts / comments would be greatly appreciated. We are in this for the long haul, but the VSC wait of 4 months & 3 weeks was brutal, and I am hoping we dont have to deal with that type of wait again.

Probably being a bit over-sensitive at this point, so apologies if my inquiry is sounding a bit impatient.

Thanks much friends.

Hi M&M,

We too were in additional processing. We just got out. The typical time to be stuck in AP is between 30-50 days. I'm sorry I cant be the barer of better news. But try as we might there was no way out. There is nothing wrong with your petition, you were just one of the unlucky ones who got selected.

Please take a look at this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=165644

They are a very supportive group and you will get some idea of what you are up against. This group of people gave me such hope and support whilst this was all happening. In the meantime if you have any questions please PM and I will do my best to answer them.

Additional Processing is frustrating, but it does end.

Ellie

Hey all!!

What are everyone including in the I-134? I sent the 134, last yrs tax return,

letter from employer, and couple pay stubs.

Thx,

Kevin

That should suffice. As for us, we included:

I-134

letter of employment stating permanent full time position as at xx/xx/xx with an annual salary of $xxxxxx

2006, 2007, 2008 W2's

2006, 2007, 2008 1040's

a photocopy of the most recent check

Reason why we included 3 year's worth of tax papers was due to the fact that the employer does not give out pay stubs

just_friend, congrats on the visa approval. I got mine this morning too. The interview was rather short. The appointment was at 8 am. I arrived at the consulate 10 minutes earlier and by the time I left the building it was around 10. Most of the time was spent on waiting. The actual interview time with the immigration officer lasted less then 5 minutes. another 10 minutes for the document checking by another lady at the enterance.

For the I-134, they only asked me for the latest tax return-2008(my fiance had sent me that of 2006,2007 and 2008)-as a supporting document. Nothing else. What I did see there was everything we submitted back in November, the officer has them, including a 34 pages(A4-sized)printed photo album.

Btw, they did not ask for the employment letter, but I gave it out together with the I-134. The interview was conducted in English after the office asked me: "In which language do you communicate with your fiance?" and I said "English."
