Congrats...why re-fling? Did you file at the wrong service center first?

No didn't file at the wrong service center...We had a terrible lawyer, so many delays, petition getting sent back so we've put together the pack ourselves and sent it off today. It should get there tomorrow so hopefully third time lucky!

Come on people, I know I'm not the only one to have filed in the last couple days. Or are you guys counting your filing month as the month you sent your petition?

Hello you two!

My sweetie and I just recently made the commitment to file and get together here in the US. She is in Cebu, Philippines right now and I am in New Hampshire.

So, how long will it take me to get the I129F packet from Vermont? I have downloaded it and am filling it out now. What else do I need to include? Is this just a preliminary application after which they will require more information, or do we have to include all the information right from the beginning?

I know there must be links here to explain all this...but the forum is so overwhelming, it's hard to find specific things. What I'd love to have is a list of all the things we need to include in the original filing package.

Anyone know where I can find this?

Thanks in advance...

Pete and Jocelyn

Go to the "Guides" section on Visa Journey it will tell you exactly what you need to know. It is very useful and you can also check out the USCIS website. How long it will take - every situation is different so unfortunately I cant answer that. Good luck!

And welcome to the madness!

I guess the US postal system lost the return receipt on my petition. I checked the number on their website, and it said it was delivered on the 30th. Oh well. Now I await the NOA1.

Yep, so true... I can't believe it's been almost 3 months since we sent this thing off. Seriously guys, it seems like a long way ahead but time will FLY. Just keep talking in here, keep talking with your fiance/e, keep working, seeing friends, stay positive but realistic. Your time will come in no time. :)

I find it easier to take it a week at a time. You know how quickly the week goes, well that's one more you can tick off.

I always take one or two for the team just so everyone gets their head off stress.

Wow bummer. Sorry to hear it, but glad you're back on track. So with your original petition, did you just finally cancel it? How did that work?
