I forgot to ask, on our NOA2 it says that it expires September 5th. Since our interview is not until the 15th, what do we need to do? Thanks for your help.

I just called DOS and they said that they sent my fiance a letter yesterday, his interview will be September 15th.

We're set for 10 years!!

Well, we got "married" in China today. It wasn't our legal wedding, of course, but it was a full celebration, with all of her family and friends there. Lots of good food. (Who knew beef stomach tasted so good?) Now her family considers us husband and wife.

Just a couple more days left to finish up packing, and we will finally go home to the US.

Congratulations Kevin! Good on you for eating the beef stomach! I'm personally one of those people who will eat anything...as long as it taste's good....no matter what it is made from :-)

Good luck with the POE, legal wedding, AOS....and life generally! :-)

Thanks Ellie. Good luck to you too. :)

My fiancee is from China, the land of weird-yet-awesome-tasting food. I've had lots of opportunities to try things that most people from Western countries would think were strange, or downright disgusting. (I did shy away from the whole scorpions though. Too much shell, not enough meat.) And you know what? Almost all of it has been good. I've come to the conclusion that the Chinese can make anything taste good. I've always looked forward to my visits here, not only to see my fiancee, but for the FOOD. :P

Well, the day has finally come. Miche arrives Houston in less than 2 hours!!

Ive been in Singapore the past 9 days, arriving home just 12 hours ago myself (35 hour trip). My body clock is so screwed up at this point, along with the anticipation of seeing her walk through those doors from Customs...totally cant sleep. LOL. I bought a bunch of small US and BR flags which I lined the driveway with that she will see upon arriving home. We will also be closing on our brand new home tomorrow morning.

Thanks again to my fellow VJ'rs. Everyone who is still waiting....remain steadfast in this path; your day will come.

Congratulations everyone on your NOA2's, interview approvals, US entries and marriages. Haven't been here for a while. I am glad everyone is doing ok and on their way to happily ever after.

With us everything is great. You can see from our timeline that I was approved for EAD/AP and now starting to look for a job (finally). Being at home not being able to work for a while caused some depression (on my side) but got trough it and now I am back on the track. If any of you guys have any questions with the AOS I would be more than happy to help.

Good luck everyone and enjoy your SO. we have waited so long :)

Hope your entry went well. Ours was a breeze. Leilei is having some problems adjusting to the time difference (12 hours) and to US food. It's only been a few days though, and I hope she gets through it soon. I bought her a rice cooker, and she's going to cook Chinese style food for most of our meals, I think. I have no problem with this. :) We got our marriage license a couple days ago, and we're planning to marry on September 9th (09-09-09). Nine means "forever" in Chinese culture.

Hi All,

Quick question regarding the POE procedure.

I'm planning on going to Poland and travelling back with my fiancee so that she doesn't get 'lost' on the way to the US. ;-)

What's the best way to proceed at the point of entry (Newark, N.J.)?

1) Let her go through the visitor section on her own (she doesn't really speak English, although she's been in the US before)

2) Go through the visitor section with her (I am a US citizen) and help translate

3) Take her with me through the 'Citizen' section.

She'll have to fill out a customs declaration but which one? (the green one or the white one).

Congrats to those already together and good luck to those still waiting!

Thanks for the help!

Hey...

I dont know about the customs declaration specifically, but I asked to an inmigration officer on my las POE after visiting my fiancee about this, and he said that basically whichever I wanted...so because you are a citizen take whichever is shorter and go with your fiancee, you know less waiting time. The inmigration officer in theory should not care about that, and you can always play the "I did not know which one to go through" card anyway...

so question 3, I would believe that if she entering the country with you, one card should be enough because you are both traveling together... but because you are not a married couple yet, each one of you should have their own paperwork. For hers probably fill out both and ask the inmigration officer which one he/she wants.... remember that inmigrations officers are sovereign in almost anything...so having both will not hurt at all, but it can save you time if you filled out the wrong one... but most of the inmigration officers are fairly nice people, so I should not worry about that...

Good luck and congrats on success, I hope I have that same luck soon!! :innocent:

I took my fiancee with me through the US Citizen section (Dulles International). We got no complaints.

I think the green entry form is for VWP entries only. Since she's entering on a K-1, she'll need the white I-94.
