Is there really difference calling embassy for follow up or not calling at all?

I just want to know Vjers opinion of the pros and cons of calling embassy.

It's better to follow up from time to time (like weekly) because you'd know what's happening to your case. In some instances you would just find out that there are other requirements that weren't mentioned to you during your interview or indicated on your white slip (i.e. CENMAR). If you hadn't followed up, then your case will still take longer to process if that's the case. You can't rely on simply waiting for it to be finished or the US Embassy calling or writing you if there are other issues.

personal opinion..call at least once a week..or every other week..someone told me that if they get pissed and u keep calling them ur paper will be placed under..for review or results and besides what happens to our case is really crucial it just really takes time and matter of waiting..see what happen to me i ended up being so sad here without my daughter :innocent: but i know ul get it ;) godspeed

I'snt it's their obligation to call you if they need lacking documents from you that they didnt take from you during your interview? i mean if theres nothing written on your white slip except Wait until you hear from us? what are these people ( grace or lorraine) in their hotline do if you call for follow up? are they the one who handle papers to the consul?

Well it's their obligation really to get in touch with you. But at the rate they're going you can't expect much. Remember we are talking about our families' future here. It's not prudent just to leave everything to bureaucrats who don't really care about us.

hhmmm! i dont think so Manny, they didnt even inform us that they didnt found my SON docs not after we called them. if they are doing there work with extra care, they shouldnt have the hard time looking for my SON docs, since i was there already after my interviewed and able to fixed those thing they want from me, james passport and medical result, they didnt found it that day cuz they believe that me and my son have same family name, look, does it really need to be that way? well why they didnt give a second to read our applications for them to know who them looking for, not that they just read the front page and thats all. yeah better to follow up them, than to keep silince. good luck to all of us! somtimes they dont just really have COMMON- SENSE (sorry but true enough for some of them)

Bevs,

I think you misunderstood me. Technically, it's still their obligation to inform us as it's also indicated in the white slip. (Wait until you here from us.) However, at the rate they're going we cannot really expect them to do that. Asa pa tayo! Baka pagputi na lang ng uwak at saka sila tumawag

Hence the most prudent thing to do is for us to follow up our individual cases.

i have experienced delayed too while waiting for my visa. i received my visa after 2 months and 17 days to be exact after my interview. "lostgurl 18" know about it, im not sure if she still remember me, we suffered a lot of pain waiting for our VISA. call them once a week it's either monday or friday morning. in our case, everytime we call, my husband used a 3 way call so that i can talk to lorraine or grace too they used to advise us, " call us again next week sir, maam. it is really hard but we need to do what they told us. it is also advisable if our USC partner will do the call.

goodluck to everybody!

cheers!

From my experience so far callling is good for the reason of keeping your case up to date. We have our interview date but still no letter confirming the date. I have called them twice last week because my fiancee needed the letter for her medical exam. She was able to take the exam without the letter, but they still have not updated their website to include the interview date. Another reason to call them is they made a mistake on my fiancee's address. They had one number wrong. If we wouldn't have called we would not have found out this mistake. I called back 5 days later as they requested and got our interview date and confirmation number. It is their job to assist us in getting our Visa Processed.

Yours Truly,

Maria and Steve

personally i don't think that they put your paper underneath a pile of other applications..this is just mere hearsay..i think grace and lorraine are just fine people who sometimes gets tired of hundreds of calls they attend to everyday.

before i had my visa with me, i used to call MWF to follow-up on my case. both girls were kind enough to take my call as i was telling them my hubby due to time difference. i guess patience is a key to understand them sometimes, they too are humans, vulnerable to fatigue and irritation..
