Good for them. I have strong convictions as well about not being a mouthpiece for any political party. Then again, if I were working for a telemarketing company, I'd probably have thicker skin. But since I also have morals and hate being called at 8pm by people trying to sell me sh!t I'd never buy anyways (even less the chance of buying since they're bothering me at home), I wouldn't take a job doing something I'd personally be offended by in the first place.

By not speaking, the call center workers have spoken volumes.

They have said that even though they may be for hire, and even though they can not afford

to miss a day of work; they can not afford to sell their values in the name of the heinous campaign

being run by Senator McCain.

IMHO, this pretty much trumps any political endorsement.

This is small-town USA standing up and saying, "We've had enough of this BS".

Because of this, I'm actually going to be nice to the next telemarketer that calls and interrupts me.

But just the next one....then I go back to general contempt for them as usual.

As for the issue of ethics... yes... this is a clear example of people standing up to unethical politics.

To add to that I'm sure that most call recipients wouldn't mind getting calls at home from illegal aliens that can barely speak English if not at all. Nope. Won't mind at all. Specially with an anti-Obama ad by phone.

Yes that is sad.

Even though I think that by using a telemarketing firm, it sort of becomes solicitation. Lucky the workers that had support from their supervisors on the issue of walking off. You shouldn't be forced to support any political party at work.
