Hi guys,I got question My husband will be undergoing a sputum test on Nov 3,4,5, and most of the forums I read here eventhough the smear test and pulmunary exam comes out negative, the beneficiary has to wait still for 2 months for the culture result. Is there any way that my husband can still catch his interview on Nov 18 if the smear and pulmunary exam comes out negative,,anyone has an idea on how to make this thing work, we are getting paranoid already on thinking about this another 2 months waiting.

I am hoping that everything will comes out negative,,and they will still allow him to cathch up with his interview on nov 18.

Actually almost all smears result are coming out negative, that's why they need to have it cultured to see if bacteria would grow.. I would suggest that you consult a another doctor about it, although it will not be honored by st. lukes at least you will know what to expect..

Good Luck!! Best wishes on your journey!!

Is this true? If the 3 consecutive days of sputum AFB test is negative, (all 3 negative)he can be cleared and he will be adviced to come back to SLEC for the vaccines and then he can proceed with her interview as scheduled

nope, patients still has to wait for 2 mos for the culture of the smears.. The Culture is for them to see if there will be bacteria to grow or not.. you will recieve a call from SLEC if it turn out to be positive within 2mos.. I hope your husband won't get a call from them..

Good Luck on your Journey..
