I just wanted to post our interview experience. Let me start to say that we got the PINK SLIP, does that mean we are approved? but when we were at window 38, the lady said that the consul wanted more document verification----marriage index check w/ CDLI and marriage certificate. We provided the consul with a copy of the CENMAR, MC, etc but she wanted another one and wrote that on the paper to get and provide before the Visa will be released. we paid the DV sept. 26, a month before the interview. the lady at window 38 said that we can wait for the DV to be done which will be 4-6 weeks or we can go to NSO and get the verifcation ourselves and hand it in to USEM between 1-2pm M-Th. anyone w/ the same situation? it seems to me that the DV is useless if we are going to be the one to do the DV ourselves and pay extra when we have already provided the docs at interview. so after the interview today, we went to NSO and the lady said that the CENOMAR and MC will look the same but the barcode has something to do with CDLI verifcation code. so bakit wala to sa list of requirements ng embassy. this is really crazy. so at the beginning we could have gotten the MC and cENOMAR w/ CDLI code para deretcho na, diba? so we are stuck in DV right now, right? That must be the white slip the whole paper w/ the requirements needed? but since we got the pink slip, does it mean we are approved once they receive the docs that they asked for?

Hi, you mean the barcode below the NSO paper? Our MC has it and I guess/hope that CENMAR also has (I will check it when I get it on Nov 6)... but my BC doesn't have... I just noticed, I used to get NSO docs (MC) in NSO Makati but my BC should ONLY be requested from NSO Main (East Ave) this because of the RA9048 (typo error corrected)... All docs I got from NSO Makati has bar code but not from NSO Main...

Also, you said you got PINK slip (only?).. so this means no need to request another docs from NSO... wow, ibang pahirap na naman ba ito?

well i guess i got the white paper stating that i need the documents--marriage index for check w/ CDLI + MC. so it's pink slip and white paper. so the regular white paper, they call white slip here at VJ. when requesting for MC and marriage index(CENMAR) to go ahead and request for CDLI. it has more verification i guess. since USEM is backlogged on DV and has postpone it, they have given the job to us to get it ourselves verified. the CO told my husband ur good to go when you get another CENMAR etc. she wanted a recent one.

the CDLI means court decree and legal instruments. the NSO requires that i think when you've previously been married or you used your father's surname if you were a illegitimate child. look it up on census.gov.ph. cause there are different requirements needed to get an CDLI.

When I caled delbros before, I asked what was requested by the embassy in NSO because I know its in their system before, the girl that I talked w/ was hesitant to give info because she doesnt understand the terms. SO i said, Just BC and Cenomar right? she said, No, there is another one and this is CDLI. I was wondering why USEMBAssy would need CDLI? is this the marriage certificate of my Parents? i am single and never been married. I still wonder what was the use of CDLI for DV. Anyone who knew what a Court decree and Legal Instrument is?

it's just all really confusing. i called the NSO a couple of times to find out what is CDIL. no one could answer me. they were confused too. but then i read their website and talked to my auntie who is a lawyer here. she told me that i most likely my husband won't be asked for the CDIL cause he's a legitimate child and our marriage is his first marriage. he's applying for a CR-1 visa.

really what they are doing is making us do their job of doc verification that we paid for earlier. our document is recent a couple of months only but the consul insist on a recent one, basically dated after the interview. My husband went straight to the NSO supervisor and was told that CDLI is just a verification process of the documents like MC, death certificate, etc. i think no matter if u have all the docs, they will find something to delay you. in short, we are doing the DV ourselves. the lady in window 38 who gave us the pink slip and the white paper told us either to wait for them to do the DV themselves which might be 4-6 wks (so useless to pay amonth b4 interview) or we get the docs ourselves and hand delivery to embassy which will take shorter. once received by USEM, consul will review and decide to release the visa.

Ok, so the CDLI is only applicable to those who are previously married and illegitimate...

Wow, this is quite confusing huh... To add, it's not that easy, I mean fast, to get NSO docs...

I was single, never been married and a legitimate child. WHy would they request CDLI from me? huh

What do you expect? Ang gulo nila! MJ3LasVegas is right-- first DV, then CENMAR or marriage index, then CDLI. These are pretty good excuses to delay our visas.
