John McCain: Economic Disaster

Posted on September 30th, 2008 by ZP Heller - ShareThis

John McCain does not have the ability to fix this economic crisis. After declaring the fundamentals of the economy strong, he created a political circus in Washington last week by mucking up bailout negotiations; a deplorable stunt, considering he and his political cronies helped cause the current meltdown.

It was McCain and his economic adviser Phil Gramm who pushed for the deregulation that helped lead to the banking crisis, and it was McCain’s crony Rick Davis who had deep lobbyist ties to Freddie Mac. Don’t let others be fooled by McCain’s economic grandstanding because the reality is his policies and principles will only exacerbate our financial hardships.

Reagan's deregulation is the only reason why Gate's owns the computer market, that guy couldn't write code to open a Cracker Jack box and is fortunate his dad was a clever business attorney, put over 4,000 thousand software companies out of business that affected two of my family members, his screaming to congress that he needs immigrants for software engineers, and stole just about everything else to get where he is today. But heard he retired.

Deregulation permitted the big trucking guys to come in and undercut the little family owned businesses, put them out of business, then skyrocketed the rates. One family tried to start up again, but then the big guys lowered the rates just long enough to kill them.

Deregulation permitted big banks to overtake our local banks, that I was pleased with, then decreased the interest, and added service charges.

Deregulation was great for Wal-Mart, and they do not have the lowest prices like they claim, will target a local business, run them out, then jack up the prices again.

Deregulation let's utility companies charge whatever they please, how many places in your town has more than one electrical, phone, or gas company? Before they had to go before a federal or state board to justify price increases, now they can charge whatever they feel like.

Don't have to mention Wall Street, but all in all, deregulation has hurt the American family and benefited the super rich. Teddy Roosevelt saw this and started regulating this stuff, but forgot about Wall Street, FDR took care of that, only to go back the way it was before these two great men, one was a republican, the other a democrat.
