Hi All,

So I am about to submit our I-751 to remove my wife's conditional residency. Here a few questions I have; any help would be appreciated.

- I am including the following which all indicate both our names. Does anyone think we need more docs?

o home deed

o child birth cert (2 months old :))

o mortgage statements

o joint tax filings

o car title

o car & home insurance

o joint checking account

o electric utility bill

o investment account

o health insurance card

o life insurance beneficiaries (each other)

o photos with family members

- I am skipping the affidavits from friends and travel itineraries; does anyone think we should include them??

- Can the photos be printed on color paper or do they need to be developed?

- Do we need to include SSN cards copies, passport copies, driving license copies (our driving licenses show different addresses since mine still shows my old address)?

- My wife is planning on traveling (with our baby) after we file for about 3 weeks to visit family over-seas while she is still on maternity leave, does anyone think this is a bad idea?

Thanks again for any help.

It looks like you have plenty of evidence.

I don't think you need the affidavits and travel itineraries based on your other evidence.

Photos printed on paper should be sufficient.

If the form doesn't specifically request copies of the SS cards, passports and driver's licenses, they are not needed. As long as you make sure you include a copy of your wife's green card, you should be fine.

Depending on when you file and when your wife is leaving the country, I think you need to consider two things:

1. Either her green card must still be valid when she returns the the US or she needs the expired green card and a notice of action extending the validity of her green card.

2. The last time I checked, it looked like biometrics appointments were being scheduled about a month after the I-751 application was received at the service center. As long as you are available to request a rescheduled biometrics in case she is out of the country on her scheduled biometrics date, it should be ok for her to travel at that time.

Good luck!

great, thanks for the feedback. I didn't think the affidavit letters were necessary so I hope that is the case.

quick questions on assembling the documents; and best practices:

- i think passport photos are no longer required, is that correct?

- should we use a binder, staples or clip the documents in groups?

- should we highlight the names and dates on documents with a highlighter?

- should we write down the dates & event description on the back of each photo?

- is the front page of a bank statement for example enough or do we need to include all the pages?

thanks,

She has to change her DL address to the address where her husband lives and should attach copy of both your DL to show the same address. Thats if you want to show one more evidence with the docs.

- should we use a binder, staples or clip the documents in groups? BINDER

- should we highlight the names and dates on documents with a highlighter? NOT NECESSARY

- should we write down the dates & event description on the back of each photo? IF YOU WANT

- is the front page of a bank statement for example enough or do we need to include all the pages? THEY WANT TO SEE TRANSACTIONS

Just want to confirm if people submitted the first page of bank statements and util bills or the whole thing? it just makes the stack of docs so much bigger for their review!!

As for our driving licneses, the addresses are the same in the DMV system but on the driving license itself they are different. Not sure how to get around that and if we need to submit copies?

thanks...

I submitted the entire bank statements. I submitted the entire bank statements. It was a thick submission so to make it easier for them to review, I separated everything with dividers and then sub-separated them with post-it notes.

Me too, yeah gets bulky but better know they get everything than later on ask for more.

If you submitt all the bank statement they can see the movement of your activities, like you are paying things that are like supermarket, insurances, bills, loans, how checks are paid...so yes it give them an idea that the account is "active", not only that you open with two names and that was it.

Well the bills are mostly 1 page though, like the power bill...except the cell phone bill which was only at his name and was the only bill I did not included since I had other stuff and all the rest of the bills.

Just a note and I'm sure it's not a deal breaker but this page dealing with how to submit stuff to USCIS says not to use binders.

If it were me and we travelled together, I would include copies of the tickets.

not to be picky but what it say is

Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled

we used a hard folder with an ACCO fastener on top (holes punched in all the documents).

one other question on the how many statements to submit - is 4 months worth of statments for each year of marraige enough?

I submitted one for each year we were married, including the first statement that my name was included on the bank account, and the most recent month's statement. So a total I think of 5 statements. They want to see continuity, not actual transactions (unless you are making a point of showing that both of you contribute to a joint account from separate accounts).

Picky or not, thank you so much for that post! I'm grateful because I read it as 'do not use binders, or folders that CAN be easily disassembled' ....lolz. So now I can use a binder which is perfect for me!

...and sorry for passing on my misinformation up there!
