I cannot seriously believe that Palin will be the choice in 2012.

According to Mr. Nuzzo, any Republican who doesn't think so is "the enemy".

I like the idea of Palin running for the GOP in 2012. And in 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, ... well, you get the picture. Let them put up a candidate that has no real shot of ever making it. Let them forever do that. What a wonderful world this could be.

I would have thought the serious politicians in the GOP (those for whom Palin signals the 'vulgarisation' of American politics) would be more than happy to be excommunicated. Perhaps they will start a third party? Good for them if they do, who wants all our politians to be 'boy or girl next door' types? Talk about dumbing down to the lowest common denominator for 'appeal' and meanwhile the economy continues to go down the toilet.

Why don't they just fire Karl Rove, he and Atwater were very bad for this once good party, but guess that dates back to Ike when he didn't like overpriced government defense contractors. Democrats weren't worth a darn either, had some good 3rd party choices, but many voters do not like to vote for losers, so we are stuck with just two parties. Sometimes feel they are working very close together, the stuff we see on TV is just for show.

They have so much influence because they are the ones who show up in proportions exceeding their actual numbers at the primaries.
