Translating a police check into English

I need to get a Korean Police clearance certificate for the time I've been here and they only come in Korean, which means it needs to be translated.

Who can i ask to do this for me? I work at an english school so i have a Korean co-worker who is proficient in both languages. Can I ask her to do it for me? Or do i need someone official or professional?

If she can do it for me, how should it be done and what do we need to attach to show that she is proficient in both languages?

Here in Riyadh, anyone who claims to be fluent in both languages can do the translation.

Your co-worker can translate and then write and sign a simple statement which says she is fluent in Korean and English and that she translated the document honestly and to the best of her abilities.

However, I always get every document translated at a professional translation office. The embassy should have a list of translators that they can give to you.

Once, when we were obtaining my son's American Citizen Birth Abroad Certificate the embassy told us we could have his Arabic birth certificate translated by anyone, so we even went to a translation office and had it done...then when it came time to hand in the document the embassy said "oh, it has to be from one of our official translators, not just any translator"...although they are the ones who told us that we didn't even have to go to a translator, that my husband could translate it himself. So yea, after that unpleasant experience we have gotten every document translated at an official translation office.

I'm sure Korea has these offices and I would recommend using a professional more than using a friend, but that's just my opinion.
