at least for a few days. Sent off my AOS and EAD yesterday. Now I wait.....Anything else I can do in the interim? She already has her SS and I'll wait for the EAD to arrive before I change the name, just in case I get any grief.

Since your district office is Orlando, be prepared for a really long wait.

Glad you responded, I have a question, since you are in Ocala and were sent to Orlando. How is your district determined? The reason I ask is that I live in a suburb of Orlando, but on the outskirts. However, because of my zip code, some of my services such as Direct TV and phone are from Tampa. Therefore although I list Orlando as my district office, I'm not sure where they will send me if its based on zip code or city name.

Any ideas?

It is actually based on the County that you live in. If you click on the link, it will show you the counties covered by the Orlando office.

I read on another forum (www.immigrationportal.com) that the Orlando office has hired more Officers to help with the backlog at the begining of this year. Also, there was guy on that website who actually had his interview in the Jacksonville Office, even though he lived in Volusia county.

I am a little optimistic that it may not take as long as two years for my wife to get her green card.

Just as I thought. I'm in Polk County, but probably about 1 mile or so from Osceola County. Therefore it looks like eventhough I am 30 minutes from Orlando and 1hr 15 from Tampa, they're going to send me to Tampa. Although, it seems their backlog is less in Tampa than Orlando.
