It happened a decade ago. Time to move on. Educate, but don't rub it in people's faces.

What happens here and now, with recent murders, should be the focus. The dragging that just happened should call for the guy who did it to be dragged, hung, and beaten like a pinata.

Isn't that cruel and unusual punishment? We can't have that, can we? No, we can't.

Sure we can. We believe in the government killing people. Why not now?

Get real. When has the government in the 20th century (much less the 21st century) ever sentenced anybody to be dragged, hung, and beaten like a pinata? Google that sonny boy! You will find "no matches". What's up with that?

Exaggerations do not make a point. So what is your point. Spit it out. Say what you are trying to point out.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

I'm pretty sure I did say it. If there's a part of it you need help comprehending, I'll gladly walk you through it. You Texas boys should have an affinity for eye-for-an-eye -- Texas justice. May as well be fair.

Walk me through it. I got ancestors from Missouri. You know...the "Show Me" state. Show me what you got. So far I ain't got a clue about what you are trying to say.

BTW...Texas and USA law is not based on eye-for-an-eye justice. Maybe you should get out more and travel around your own country. Lord knows it might go a long way to educating you to how things really are in 2008. I think maybe you might have read too many books about Judge Roy Bean and Law West 'o the Pecos. Maybe you saw the movie with Paul Neuman? It ain't like that no more. Yes, and black folks can even walk down the streets of towns in Mississippi without being abused. I think you need to get out more and look around. Just some advice. ;)

Ok here, I'll hold your hand. It's very simple. Try to follow along. You kill people who are "convicted" murderers. Convictions that aren't 100% accurate. Meaning the state commits murder in the name of justice.

Therefore, you should have no problem with this guy being dragged, strung up, and beaten like a pinata.

Now, if you're still having problems comprehending this, nothing more I can do for you. Can't spend much more time educating you, so I'd suggest going back to elementary, assuming you went.

Firstly, I've been to those states, and there's no real reason to visit them. Well, Missouri does have Six Flags. But ours is better. My experience with southern states comes from going to see family and the other boring states I've visited. Secondly, eye for an eye was rather parodying of Texas' ridiculous Death Penalty laws and the people who support them. Not sure what this part had to do with the rest of your rant, but probably something that comes with age.

peejay SVRT lives in a gated community yet acts like he knows the world.

He also thinks San Jose is the center of the galaxy.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

"What this case shows is that if a white person wants to lynch a black man, all they have to do is befriend him first," Deric Muhammad said.

So, any time a white person kills a black person, it is racially motivated, and a "lynching"? Is that not itself a racist concept?

And what about when a black person kills a white person? Is that also always racially motivated, and thus a hate crime? Or are only murders of victims of certain races by certain other races eligible to be considered "hate crimes"? If so, how does that help bring about equality in the value of the life of victims of different races?

I agree wholeheartedly, Scott.

His death and the circumstances of his death are a tragedy, no doubt. However, there is a HUGE difference between Byrd's case and this particular case. The previous case was a man who was beaten, chained and dragged. This is a situation of friends who got pissed off and ran over the guy. While still disgusting and tragic, it's not the same. If the guys driving the truck were his black friends, no one would claim it was a hate crime.

First thing that struck me funny (odd) had to be the part where a Black Racist group (Nation of Islam) is accusing these two white guys of being in a racist group.

:bonk:

Unfortunately we didn't get very many details about the incident to form a "arm-chair lawyers" opinion. Where the three guys drunk/ high, who reported the crime? What time of day/night did it happen?

Considering the background of the players, I am betting it had more to do with drugs or money than race.

The Fathers words were touching.

may the families burden be light and justice be done.

Says Mr. OCD for OECD.

So you did learn about OECD as part of the liberal arts degree.

Let me guess CA is the most exciting place in the world for you right. What did you call it again, Epic Fail... Have you bothered traveling much around Europe or many other places in the world. Judging by your misinformed posts clearly not but you will find the rest of the world has completely different interests to that of CA. I will give you a hint. They are not into materialistic, fake blondes, with fake boobs, porn and other Hollywood #######.

Whereas I know lots of highly educated people who regularly travel around the world, have been on probably 7 Contiki tours and they absolutely love the South. Then again you are from CA. Hardly an example of Culture now is it. So you wouldn't know what culture is even if it sat in your lap and called you daddy.

I just find it amazing that some people, and I use that term loosely... would try to find a way to negate the hate crime part of the actual hate crime by finding some weird justification of a system logic where two wrongs make a total right.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
