We had some wet snow yesterday and every one in Jersey and PA went bananas. They actually closed down whole sections of major routes.

Hey now, it was only raining in my lil PA suburb! And I wasn't going bananas so much as burying myself under a bazillion blankets

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

GUILTY!!!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I miss snow. It snowed up in the mountains, and I can pretty much smell it from here (and see it on the peaks) but there's none here in the foothills. My Mum emailed me and said she had snow on her car this morning. She lives in Whitby, just outside TO. And of course there's the snow up in NY, NJ, PA, and VT. We wanted to be moved to NY by now. I could be playing in the snow right now but nooooooooo, the stock market had to go and crash and and then hubby needed cardiac tests and that took almost all our savings we had for a downpayment on a house :P hmph...and bleah even.

Ugh, moving to NY does nothing but guarantee that your property taxes increase. I'd go back to PA in a heartbeat if I could. (Not to mention the fact that I'd be returning to WEGMANS!)

Unfortunately this is true. PA is so much cheaper to live in compared to NY or NJ.

Yeah well, considering the unemployment rate here in WNC is edging closer and closer to the double digits now (no kidding!) and my family is all in Ontario and I haven't seen them in over a year, moving closer to them will benefit us in more than one way. Plus, here in NC you get nickle and dimed to death with taxes, so while NY property taxes may seem like a big chunk all at once, we probably pay similar rates here in NC, once you add them all together (city and county property tax on the house, city and count tax on the vehicles, plus NC has income tax on top of the federal income tax)
