Many Right-wingers are just waiting for Obama to take office and start screwing up due to his inexperience and political vanity. So sure are they that "the people" will have buyers-remorse.

I laugh at this notion.

IN the first place, it would take mistakes of huge proportions to sour the faithful on Barack.

Nonsense. In the end people think about themselves. In four years if things are worse they will be begging to go back to the GOP- just like 1980. Its like when things are bad and you just go out and get drunk to ease the pain. But then eventually you wake up with a real bad hangover, you realize the partying didn't make you feel better, it makes you feel worse, so you tell yourself "never again!" but then 12 years go by and you go out and get drunk again and start the whole process again.

People have a LOT of hopes riding on Mr Obama. Expecations are very high. There is almost no way he can deliver. He's already been dealt a crappy hand to start out with so its going to be 4 years of uphill travel. But don't think for a moment that people will give him any sort of break for inheriting a recession. People are not that patient.

I have to agree with dalegg. Obama is held afloat by the high expectations he and the media have created for him. There is no way he can deliver, and that, combined with his inexperience and thin record as a mover and shaker, makes him a target for the kind of public rage we haven't seen for decades. The media can and will turn on him, as they do when they smell blood in the water. And, coupled with a filbuster-proof, liberal ** Congress, there will be no escape from blame or responsibility with no Republicans in office to beat up on. He is middle-aged, has done nothing to earn the trust he would be given if he wins. His wife will be frustrated by his lack of ability to perform, which often happens to 40-something men without the stress. He will be old and out of it in for years.

But since she's not, and she's supporting GI Joe and Alaska Barbie, that's what I'm gonna do.

I got a letter from Sarah Palin yesterday. Well, actually, my grandmother got the letter. Since she's been dead since 2001, I decided to open it myself. (I've notified the RNP several times that she no longer lives here, or anywhere for that matter). Sarah Palin talked at length about the horrible smear tactics that Obama was using against poor Sarah and John. Her heart-felt plea, and her many references to religion, have convinced me! Geezer and Milf in 2008!
