Most common forms of abortion are a DNC or the morning after pill, partial birth abortions are rare, a woman wanting one doesn't wait that long. A DNC or a morning after pill is more of a I don't know, don't ask procedure, but the anti-abortionists love to make an issue of killing a live baby. Even if you strongly object to abortion, but your 13 year old daughter is raped, more than likely will not object to a DNC and further worry about other things such as Aids. Besides rape, incest also enters the picture, but on the other hand, if you married a woman and learned she had an abortion when you wanted to have a child, and she ended up killing that child, would end up in a divorce court.

Also, it's not easy to find a doctor that is willing to kill a perfectly formed baby, especially one that can live independent of the womb, these discussions are nonsense.

Complex subject, but if a candidate states is for terminating a pregnancy for cases of health, incest, or rape, partial birth abortion is thrown in by the opposition and made a big deal. Convenient to throw this issue back to the states like illegal immigrants, state ends up with the cost of these deeds.

But in general, the republican party loves to bring up the subject of abortion, have been for years, claim they are against it in all circumstances, but haven't done a damn thing about it, it's just an election issue with them, and while I am an independent, always have been, turns me away from a group of hypocrites. And even question my own church when told how to vote strictly on the standing of abortion when history shows, nothing has been done about it.

And abortion for a married couple would not nearly be an issue, if they could support their children, not easy to do when your jobs being shipped overseas and both parties are responsible for that. But when one guy says, he is going to do something about it while the other doesn't even seem to think it's a problem, that can have some influence as to how one may vote.

We both agree, it is a complicated issue (exactly how many fetuses or destroyed and when and how).

What I found ironic about your post here is how you brushed off late term abortions as *few and far between* (so why even bring them up?) then you turn right around and use the rarity of

the abortions originating Rape and incest. To make your case.

Essentially being pro-choice is allowing for the possibility of abortion - not promoting abortion and Obama certainly does not promote abortion and I don't know anyone who does not as individuals or groups. The 'democrats are the baby killing party' stuff is wrong and a reprehensible thing to say.

Obama's campaign wishes to place emphasis on education to prevent unplanned pregnancy. This is the single best way to reduce ALL abortion.

Obama on the bill in question voted against it because it was badly worded and would in his opinion cause legal difficulties that were in nobody's best interest. That is not a vote for baby killing, not even in the best stretch of the truth.

There are a number of people who seem to be caught up in the drama and emotion of the abortion issue and seem incapable of looking at it in any rational way which is too bad really. Nothing new though when you have a political system that allows for lies to be disseminated in the name of free speach. There are ways to change the political atmosphere but I doubt those intent on bludgoening the oposition with a war of words are particulary interested in making that particular change.
