We have socialism built into out capitalistic government.

For example, the simple act of going to a store and buying a can of beans is socialism, you are not just paying for that can of beans, but paying for taxes, health insurance, benefits on everyone from the farmer that also payed for the seed and fertilizer, fuel and operating expenses, and taxes associated with the price of those seeds through the canning company, shipping companies, distribution warehouses, and even the store. All of these prices have to be built into the product cost for all the associated companies to make a profit to stay in business. And the government is taking it's share each time those beans change hands.

It's socialism in the respect that anything you buy is spreading your money over a wide group of people, even for the very necessities of life, and specifically in a capitalistic society. Depending on what formulas you use, the government is getting up to 83% of that money you paid for that can of beans, but at least 50% and this is with post tax dollars.

Another way of looking at the economy, everything we have on this earth was given to us, either by accident or by God, won't get into that. To get it to us, the cost is 100% labor and all labor is taxed. Course, some claim the ownership of a good share of this earth, they also get a couple of bucks for allowing others to take it. That couple of bucks could be for a quart of crude oil.

kinda weird seeing this. first... you have obama agreeing with mccain during a debate. then you have mccain agreeing with obama's proposal and candidacy.

cast my absentee ballot several days ago. the deed has been done.

But, I do agree with this girl. Her father dedicated more time to focus on a doctor in medicine than a typical college party goer. And, then, he gets penalized more because he makes more money versus those college party goer.
