I think an age gap may bring a little doubt BUT... as many have said before, PROOF of a bonafide REAL relationship will ease any doubt or hesitations.

I for one have 16 years on my Fiancee and even till now, I am questioned by people and I'm sure more just wonder, HOW it can be real... Well I am NOT some desperate guy that needs to go to another country to find someone to love. I like most of you, found love when I least expected it. It just so happens that we have a 16 year age gap, BUT we have so many similarities with likes and dislikes that I think I found the female version of ME! I know SCARY!!! Heck she even has the same crooked sense of humor I have and will laugh at things most wouldnt find funny. When I am with her, honestly I FORGET the age difference, whether its because I act like Im five years old or she acts like she is much older... OR we just meet in the middle, I dont care... It works, and thats ALL THAT SHOULD MATTER!!!

So I guess what I would say to you...If your relationship is real for each other, FORGET what others may think and like almost everyone has said before, just be prepared to prove it so you can once again be with her.

Good Luck My Friend!

It's weird the way you wrote that about your relationship. I have thought a lot about my own because I'm 17 years senior of my Fiancee. I looked at our relationship from all angles. I also wondered what others would think. After the air cleared and I realized I have just meant the lady of my whole life's dreams it didn't matter. All that mattered is that we are in love. My situation sounds so identical to yours that it is almost scary. I have no doubts in the lady I will again be with soon, with God's help. This is the first time in my life I have ever felt this way in any relationship. Money or my possessions are no longer my priority. My Fiancee is now my priority. For the first time in my life, I'm no longer feeling stingy or not willing to share the little I do have. My whole perspective on life has changed. And like you, I didn't need to travel half way around the world to "find a girl". I have had plenty of options right where I live in the states since I'm a bachelor and never been married, no kids. I'm also a business owner. There is something about American women for the most part I just don't care for. I believe it's our traditions. I see a total different type of woman within my Fiancee. I'm so much in love with her. What others think don't matter to me.

Hi All!!!

I just mailed this week the visa petition and today I joined this site. I have a few questions, I will ask each in its own thread.

Question #1

If there is a age diffrence between the me and my fiancee. Does that make any diffrence? What if the age gap is 30 years?

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks,

See other posts for other questions :star:

Age differences are the norm in the Philippines, just check any dating website that hosts the Philippines and you will see most ladies are searching for a man 10 years her senior minimum. They want a mature stable man to provide for the family and be responsible. Me and my Pinay have a 16 year gap.

Good luck and welcome to VJ

You will be ok...don't worry. I know somebody who has same age gap as you and your fiance and they were never even asked a single question about it.

And for those who think that big age differences in relationship is silly...well, perfect age doesn't guarantee a perfect marriage.

:ot: RESPECT. Some people who think of themselves as "smart" or "wise" enough to know everything tend to forget this. RESPECT! :star:

Yeah, but what about when the woman is older than the man...the man being older than the woman seems so much more widely accepted, no matter the country. I guess I will find out when my fiance has his interview if they find our age difference an issue...

Well, if true love really exist in your relationship, there's no problem on that. As an old saying says "Love is Blind". Who are we to judge somebody's relationship. But we're not just talking about the social acceptance, speaking of legalities and government point of view, it matters.

As Filipina, my own point of view, I can go dating guys not more than 10 years older than me and not less than 3 years younger than me. Hehehe... that's my preference. Honestly, the social norm here in the Philippines, if the guy married a woman more than 12 years older than him, it is consider be like "sugar mom". But if the woman married a guy 16 years older than her, it is consider be like "DOM". Please, don't get me wrong, this is just base on the social acceptance of the Philippines that I gather from the perspective of other people I know. I can only say that, in general, that's how narrow minded Filipinos are when comes to relationship, but observing the current situation, Filipinos tend to be liberal now.

Same here I am older then Him and our relationship works JUST like any relationship that is closer in age. On another age gap website that we have joined that is a support group; I know 12 couples who are Older women younger men from Australia and they got visas...age gaps ranged between 13 years and 25 years.

Like someone posted,

in the high volume, high fraud countries of which the PI is both, large age differences can be red flags.
I have noticed those folks have a harder time.

IF you can prove you have a bonafide relationship then you will be fine.

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!
