We did a normal AOS in Dallas back in 2004. There was no DORA program at the time of our filing (We filed in April, DORA started in early May).

We hired a lawyer and had no problems whatsoever.

Good luck! :)

I see in your timeline there was an EAD appointment letter? What's all that about? I have never heard of getting an EAD appointment letter, only an appointment for EAD if you dont recieve it after 90 days...Is that something old?

Yes, I believe they have changed the whole process since then. For example, when we filed, we mailed everything to the Dallas District Office, not Chicago...

Anyways, yes, it was a letter that I got from the USCIS telling me to show up at such-and-such place, date & time. When I got there, they took my picture and a fingerprint, and issued the EAD on the spot.

The EAD letter looked like this:

And the letter from my lawyer notifying me of the EAD appointment:

BTW, I love Grapevine! It’s such a nice town!!!!! :)

it would be nice to know what the processing is like.. because i will be moving to dallas and have to transfer my application to there.. according to the website they are over a yr behind.. which is sucky.. cannot go through the DORA cause it can only be done on newly filed application and u have to register for it...
