that on the USCIS Processing Times website for Califorinia, that rather than giving dates for the processing timeframe, now they just stating it in "months" for the I129-F form? Any speculation in the format change?

It clearly states the reason for this on the website. . .

The table shown below is intended to be a tool for customers to view our processing times. When applications and petitions are completed within our target timeframes, those timeframes will be shown (example: 3 months). If we are not meeting our target timeframes a date will be shown (example: April 16, 2008).

The processing dates shown below represent the receipt dates of petitions and applications currently being processed by the USCIS Service Center.

So with 6 months being listed for I-129f's, they currently would be processing petitions from April 2008 onward. If someone had filed in Feb 2008 and still have not heard anything after NOA1, they could call customer service and inquire into the hold up, since it is now 'out of timeframe' i.e. over 6 months to process.

It has always been procedure to post a date that was 6 months in the past, they have simplified it to just show that the oldest cases being processed are 6 months old.

It is their way of saying don't bother calling for status unless your filing date is older than 6 months.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

They had shown dates of six months or greater because at that time six months was considered out of the processing timeframe. Yes, they have increased the amount of time to process. This is reflected on the same page where it states:

USCIS will continue to shift resources to ensure that all local offices achieve the goal of five month processing times.

Er, make that 'goal of six month processing times.'

Just prior to this update they were showing a date 7 months out (Feb. 2008)

2009-07-15 NOA1 for I-485, I-131, I-765 (USCIS rec'd date is 07-12)

2009-08-05 Case transferred to CSC

2009-08-12 no biometrics yet.......called on 30 day mark to report no biometrics, a service inquiry has been made on the case.....

2009-08-25 - received Biometrics appointment letter!

2009-08-27 I-131 (AP) approved

2009-09-15 Biometrics appointment

2009-09-15 EAD Card production ordered!

2009-09-23 EAD Card received

2009-10-06 GC approved/card production ordered

2009-10-13 GC received in the mail!

06/02/2011 - NOA receipt date

06/06/2011 - Check cashed

06/07/2011 - NOA arrived in the mail

02/02/2012 - Phoned USCIS and put in a service request

02/08/2012 - Email from USCIS confirming my request

02/11/2012 - Letter from USCIS - says i should receive news within 30 days

03/14/2012 - Phoned USCIS again. 30 days has passed. no news. Took details again.

03/15/2012 -Received letter from USCIS - have to go to interview April 24th

04/24/2012 - Interview and ROC approved!!
