G-325A question

Okay, maybe I'm being #######, but I want to make sure I don't make any mistakes on these forms lol.

I'm trying to fill out the G-325A form and I've run into a question. My father is currently a resident of nowhere heh. He's living out of a hotel in China because he was planning on moving his business there but that hasn't worked out. Last I heard he is in the process of getting his stuff shipped back here. So he has no real residency there or here.

Not sure what I put for that? lol

Dylan,

A postal-quality address is not required - city, state, and country (or comparable as may be appropriate for the country involved) is sufficient.

Where is his body now?

Just write down the address where he is staying now. Contact your father right before you fill out the G-325A. Writing "unknown" is not appropriate when you know his whereabouts.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

jazzy,

but inappropriate if the whereabouts are known

Yodrak

"UNKNOWN" is acceptable

Yodrak,

If there is no current residential address, then "UNKNOWN" is very appropriate. The question doesn't ask if his whereabouts are known...it asks for the city and country of residence...if he is in transition then "unknown" is just fine.

Thanks for the info all.

I know where he's at right now, but not sure where he's going to be once I send in the paperwork heh. I caught my dad on msgr last night. He said I can still use his old local address, he's still getting mail forwarded from there. I'll wait til my wife sends me her forms to get mine filled out and hopefully he'll have a clue what he's doing by then :)
