Hi everyone. We submitted September 23rd my husband's I-751. We have discovered his driver's license in VA will expire the same day as his green card expires. Has anyone else dealt with this? Do you just need to prove that you are applying to remove conditions or will he be sans driver's license until his new GC is approved?

P.S. I'm also an idiot and forgot to sign the application myself so it was returned! Argh!

May 11 '09 - Case Approved 10 yr card in the mail

June - 10 yr card recieved

Feb. 19, 2010 - N-400 Application sent to Phoenix Lockbox

April 3, 2010 - Biometrics

May 17,2010 - Citizenship Test - Minneapolis, MN

July 16, 2010- Retest (writing portion)

October 13, 2010 - Oath Ceremony

Journey Complete!

Just to be clear, t won't automatically extend the expiration of the DL, just the GC.

Requirements vary by state. You should be able to bring the NOA along with the expired GC to get an extension of the DL.

From this thread it seems that in VA they will extend for 1 year. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=139440

I would make sure to renew before the current DL expires.
