hello.

soon I am going to have my CR1 interview.

Many years back I have applied for US non immigrant visa and I was denied and during those days they dont have fingerprint system in the embassy so they just stamp US VISA APPLIED on..........

And I lost that passport and now I have a new passport from which I have travel to many nations. This new passport doesnt have any connection with the old passport . And the thing is that during my coming interview if the CO asked me a question have you applied for US visa before and what sall I say to CO YES OR NO.

Can evrybody please clear me in this doubt..........

thanks

tell the truth..you never really know if they have your records or not..anyway,it's been a long time already since you applied there and got denied ...and for sure new consul and if you have good supporting documents to show, like good financial support ,pictures ,etc...then you're okay. good luck

What? Only once you were denied a non-immigrant visa?

I got you on that one, I've been denied twice!

No problems. Just tell the truth. My lawyer scoffed at my conerns about my denials. As long as you followed the rules AFTER you were denied (ie leaving the country, returning home, establishing ties to your home country). You didn't break any laws, you were just denied. You're fine!

And your old passport IS tied to your new one. I crossed to the US in July 2008 and the first question out of the officers mouth was "why did you travel to Israel in 1999?". That entrance was on my VERY old passport.
