If you look at the immigration timelines link above you can sort timelines by type of visa and embassy, so that should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect since different types of visas do have different processing times.

It depends, you could be here in 4 months, or 8 months, it could be more. You may get an RFE, this can put a hold on things until you have sent of the info that they have requested.

Allow 10 months at the outside.

The Embassy in London is where you have to apply for your Visa (K1 / K2 / CR1/IR1), this can only be done once the I-130 / I-129F has been approved here in the USA and then sent to the NVC to be then passed over to the embassy, they then sent out forms to you to fill in or give details of where to obtain the forms online that you have to take back to the embassy with other paperwork that will be required by them on the day of your interview. The interview date is the day that you will find out if they will grant you your visa, you must make sure you have all the paperwork / evidence that they request on the forms. Please read the guides here at the top on the page for more info.

The London Embassy has a reputation for being one of the quicker ones to process applications. Even quicker if you are eligible to file the I-130 directly with the Embassy and not have to do it in the USA.

Once the I-130 is approved, and providing there are no problems with the visa application the normal time is 3 - 4 months, and an extra 2 - 4 weeks if the I-130 was filed in the USA. It also does depend on how quickly you get all the paperwork together and tell the Embassy yopu are ready for the interview.

The only people I can recall in the time I've been on this board taking long are those that had problems with the visa application itself or who slowed the process because they were not in a rush to leave.

The one very good piece of advice is do not make any firm travel plans until you have the visa in your hand.
