i used to tell myself that i will be so happy just to get a TOUCH. now all i am getting are TOUCHES. i wonder what is happening. i have already sent my angels to check on it. :innocent: this is getting crazier! i never thought i would experience this with USCIS. we filed on feb. 4, got our first touch on feb. 7, our 3rd touch in august, then RFE on september, and touches, touches. if not for God, i would have been crazy by now  this is no joke!

we called USCIS many times but all we got was a voice recording and almost 2 hours of waiting on the line just to talk to a "live" person. we wrote them and they told us to check their site.....DUH??? the congressman's office already assisted us but they can't do as much as tell us to wait. in fact, it was only after we contacted the congressman's office that we got our first touch after the feb. 7. isn't this ridiculous???

oh well ... just venting out to those who can empathize with me. :help:

There is a handful of us in Hell with you. I started a thread below called the 6+ month waiting club. I'm hoping we can all use it to post what has worked and what hasn't worked to hopefully help each other out a bit. It looks like one girl Sara was able to get her's expedited (after OVER 1 YEAR!!!!!) But now they say she has to wait until FEB!!!!!!!!

I think this is cruel and unusual punishment.

oh wow! this is so UNFAIR!!! and the most frustrating part is ... WE ARE IN A BLACK HOLE ... not even knowing what is causing the delay. and then you see may and june filers being approved. do you know why "sarah" has to wait till feb?

I don't know - you could ask her on my 6+ month thread below. But it sounds like they want her to start all over from scratch and get in line behind everyone else.

It's crazy!!!!!

There are sorts of factors to consider.

Someone mentioned how some names might match another person's who has a red flag on them. I remember my friend coming home from Amsterdam got taken into immigration back office and interrogated. As it turns out an American man with the exact same first, middle and last name was wanted in Europe. What saved my friend was that the man was in his 50's and my friend was about 21. Nonetheless it took about 20 minutes for them to figure that out.

There will be red flags that could delay some people for an extended time. One is not notified of this, but 'touches' do indicate activity. I would be concerned if my case had not shown any touches whatsoever after more than 6 months. However I heard that the online notification system is not the most reliable for filers who have received their visas, so not seeing any touches is not necessarily a problem either.

As well, as related by a former USCIS employee here in VJ, each person is going to process petitions at different rates. Some will go the extra mile while others will just 'follow the book' and if my fellow teachers are any indication, some just barely scape by doing their 'job.' Anyway, so it's the fates' dicision and not ours.

For those of faith, this is an excellent opportunity to express it.

Kind of off the subject but - @lizamaki...can you update your actual timeline (with your RFE information) - it helps track this kind of information. Thanks..
