I reported above that our wait was finally over for the NOAH 2. It was exactly ten months to the day by the way, since my official receipt according to USCIS was May 27 2008 and the NOAH 2 was March 27, 2009.

This post is only to give all of you additional information. The NOAH 2 was exactly two days after my phone call to Vermont Center to report that my I 129F was now technically outside their normal processing time. After looking up my file to verify this was correct, the woman then entered me into the system for a Case Officer to be assigned in Vermont to answer why my case was outside processing time. She gave me a Case number and said the latest date for response would be April 24 2009. She said response simply meant they officially assigned a Case Officer and not that the Case Officer would give a response. I asked if that could take place sooner, and she said yes. I was courteous and thanked her, despite my real feelings. Then I get magically approved with the email notification within two days. My guess is it was coincidence, but who knows. Here is the other weird thing. They updated my online account with recognition of the approval on the same day they emailed me. So many people have reported on this site getting approved without their online account being updated; yet, mine gets updated the same day. I can't figure it out, other than to assume my phone call created the response and the woman herself approved it and thus updated my file at the same time. Either that or my case was coincidentally being approved at the same time I was calling in. Who knows, I don't care, I'm just thrilled to finally be moving on.

Those of you who have seen my posts in this thread know that I flew to the Philippines to be with my beloved Maria on January 19. Now I will stay to the end of the whole ordeal, so I can fly home with her. I'm very thankful I am able to be with her and stay this long time, and I only wish all of you could be doing the same thing. I pray for everyone to be approved soon,

Carl

PS I can't figure out how to enter the page to update my timeline on visajourney to report my NOAH 2. Can anyone tell me how to do it.

I have a question for those of you who have gotten the NOAH 2 but still read this thread.

How will I know when my paperwork is received by NVC and then leaves NVC? The NOAH 2 was reported by Vermont to me by email, but I was registered online with them for that. Will that same online system now work with communication with the NVC, or is the NVC communications strictly by regular mail? The follow up question to this is how will I know when the Embassy receives the paperwork? Will I only know that once Maria receives the package they send to her home?

Thanks,

Carl

Congrats Carl on your NOA2!

So pleased for you.

As to your question how to update your timeline, click Immigration Timelines in the VJ header, on the left hand side you'll see a timeline part with Add/Edit link. Click on that and that'll get you where you need to be.

Hope your journey through NVC and Manila goes a lot faster than your journey was so far.

Good luck.

:thumbs::star::thumbs::dance: CONGRATULATIONS on your approval, Carl!:thumbs::star::thumbs::dance:

As far as NVC goes... USCIS will forward your case to NVC the same day you get your NOA2. Then you have to wait for about a week until they send you a letter in the mail from NVC. That letter will notify you that they have received your case & that it will be forwarded shortly to the embassy that applies to your case. It will also give you a new case number. Once you have that case number, you can call the 800 number & check your status. Unlike USCIS, you will speak to a representative quickly & they are SUPER KIND & HELPFUL! :D They will tell you the status of your case & give you any updates as to when they received your case, when in left, etc. In our case, THANK GOD we flew through NVC, so when I received the letter telling us they had received our case I called, and they told me the exact day they initially got it & then he told me, "Congratulations mam, your case has already been cleared by NVC and your petition was forwarded to the embassy in Cairo, Egypt on March 3rd." I was in complete shock! :D Our petition was at NVC for 6 days only, gracias a mi LINDO DIOS! :D This is usually about how long your case will stay there. Some people get stuck at NVC longer than others. It really just depends on each individual case. Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll fly right through. ;) Just remember... call NVC as SOON as you get your new case number & they will help you immediately!!!! :D I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your journey, & may you have a smooth & speedy approval so that you can be joined again with your loved one. :) Good luck & God bless!!!! :D

For those of you still waiting... PLEASE DON'T LOSE HOPE! :innocent: Your approval is on it's way, too! I KNOW it's hard, just try to hang in there & remember we're all here to help each other out. :) You ALL are in my prayers every single day. I will keep praying for everyone, especially my dear friend Sara & Brian (I read your story :( ). May God be with you all & may He grant you ALL a smooth & speedy approval as well! God bless!

Thanks for the help.

Do we need to pay a fee to the NVC, or do they just process our papers and send them to the Embassy? I went to the NVC web site and got totally confused. On their site they reference the Priority Date for the type of Petition must be reached before the NVC will process an approved Petition that came from a Center like Vermont. They also say they will not process it until the appropriate fee is paid. I've never read anything about paying the NVC a fee, and I've had the impression from reading what others write on Visajourney that we dont need to do anything and things usually go pretty quickly. Any input on this?

I left the US to be with Maria back on January 18, and I'm going to stay here with her in the Philippines until her Embassy interview. So I guess I won't see the letter from the NVC; although, I have a friend receiving my mail back home. I wonder if I can call them and have them look up my number by my name and address.

Hey Carl! :D No... there are no fees at NVC for a K-1 Visa. :) They will process your case & once you're cleared, they will forward your case to your embassy. Once it reaches the embassy, your fiancee will receive a package (package #3). In that package, you will receive forms & a set of instructions that you both of you need to follow (mainly her). Within that packet you will find the fees that your fiancee will be required to pay BEFORE the interview. They're all listed in the instruction sheets, & the fees vary depending on the consulate. Don't worry, you'll be just fine! :) You should receive something in the mail in a few days from NVC. ;) I wish you the best of luck through your journey. God bless!

You can actually call the NVC now. They can find your case with your number from USCIS or the new NVC number so either way you are good. The letter we got from the NVC was dated 9 days after they actually sent everything to Brasil.

NOA 2. Really?
