Note to self, for future reference when dealing with USCIS do not hope for anything.

In fact dont even think that things will go right/like everyone else/to their system.

They have lost our case, they dont know where our file is, they dont know where the hard copy is.

They are once again going to "investigate it" and do some "research" but the guy that the counter suggested to Chris that perhaps we should just re-file.........Because you know we want to wait another six months to be at this point....

I am so over this ######.

I can't believe that 6+ months after sending in our I-129F package, I would ever ever ever still be waiting to receive the NOA2.

A bit of background about why you are just now hearing from me:

I registered for VJ a long time ago and have since forgotten my usernname, password, etc. I didn't feel like going through the hassle of retrieving it, because all of my attempts to do so have failed. Oh well.

Anyway, I'm here now under a different name, but on Igor's List I am Ramn & Jennifer or Jennifer and Ramón depending on which one you look at.

Here are some questions:

1. How do you handle still waiting for the NOA2? We received our NOA1 on August 21, 2008, and I am consumed by thoughts of the ever elusive NOA2.

2. Based on what I've heard about security checks, do you think it is plausible that I (the petitioner) could be responsible for things taking so long? I am an attorney, and here in NC before being allowed to sit for the bar exam, you must submit fingerprints as a part of your bar application. Although I have not been informed that we are dealing with security/background checks, could THIS be the a possible explanation for why were are still waiting for the NOA2?

I think it is possible. I had to have a state and federal background check for my job along with fingerprints to the FBI I think and we just made it out of background checks after 3 months there.

is this normal to wait this long? should we call for help already?

what do you think?

If you had an RFE I'd give it a week or two and then start looking at options. Usually people with an RFE get approved pretty soon after processing resumes.

Hey everyone. I'm sad to be joining you; although, I've qualified for this post many months ago. A couple of weeks ago I went back to the very first post and read all of the pages (57 at that time), and since it took me a few vodkas to make it through all of the posts I felt a bit better at the end. Actually nothing deadens the pain we all feel while living through a tortured existence in this room. I of course in particular feel the saddest for people like Sarah and Wendy and any others waiting as long as they have. I fit here at the longer end of the waiting list.

When I first signed on with Visajourney I began to construct emails to my beloved Maria that had a countdown of six months, and I crossed out one day for each new email I sent. A month or two later I changed that email to shorten the number of days counting down; since, the information from all the timelines on VJ gave me extreme confidence only ninety to one hundred days would be needed to celebrate. When the hundredth day passed I was still very confident my approval was just around the corner. As the months rolled on, and no approval came, I began to get that sinking feeling. At first I began to think those who claimed NOAH 2s in ninety to one hundred twenty days just didnt understand what a NOAH 2 was. After all why would mine be dragging on at that point into the 150th day. Then it began to dawn on me that they really were getting approved and something was wrong with mine. Then I saw Wendy's post months ago and contacted her to find this room. Now I understand.

There is no rhyme or reason with this process. February 16th was nine months for me, and as far as I know I'm not in a security check. I've contacted Senators and Assemblymen before I finally flew here to the Philippines on January 17 to be with my beloved Maria. I'm still here and wondering what to do when my return flight date, for both her and I, on March 26 rolls around. When I arrived I still believed my approval had to be just around the corner, so I used an estimate of six weeks to get from approval to interview and picked March 26 as a likely date for us to fly back to our home. March starts tomorrow and I still dont have an approval, so obviously March 26 couldnt work at this point even if the approval came today. I wanted desperately to be here for the interview, and I could stay longer if I want to do so, but what if my situation becomes as long as poor Sarah. I can't stay here forever waiting for the approval; yet, if I leave and it comes one month later I'll want to die. I'll be thrilled that it came, but the fact I could have just waited the one month and still be there would hurt. Its driving me crazy.

At least I'm getting to live with my beloved, and most of your are waiting like I am but apart. I'm fortunate that my work permits me to just stop and take off for this length of time. I'm happier than I have been for many years being with my beloved Maria, but I'm dying wondering what is really happening with the USCIS.

Thanks for all of you for being here.

Carl
