I finally got a hold of someone uscis and he told me they were currently working on cases from july 15 so we're "getting pretty close". I know I'm not the first person to hear that but at least its something.

It's been few months less than 2years.... No conditional greencard till date. Applied in Jun2007, case had been approved in Sept 2008 but god knows why it's still pending?

Let's make another club, 2 years waiting club, lol :pop:

So: is this a game? "How many touches did you have before you got approved?"

I got another touch today, but I can't help but wonder: are we close to approval? Or is it just another touch?

People, I don't know what's worse: no touches or seeing touches, and nothing after them ??

Pfff...

Anyway, I keep praying for all of you.

US Citizen since 08/11/2015.

That's so weird. When I called, I just said, "I believe I'm outside processing dates." The lady I talked to seemed a bit confused because she had two conflicting processing dates, so she transferred me. I even called after it had been six months from the "Received Date" and not the "Notice Date" according to my NOA1. I don't understand how they can say they're working on cases from July 15 when the website says "6 months." It doesn't say, "6 months and a couple weeks." Maybe try calling with your "Received Date" from your NOA1 if that was before July 15.

Well, I got the automated response to my service request today, accompanied by a touch. I'm going down to my Congresswoman's office tomorrow. Should be fun.

"Your case is in line for processing. Based on the current processing time, you may receive a notice of action* within 45 days. However, some cases require additional background checks and this may further delay processing for at least another six months." I can't even try to think of what waiting another six months for an NOA2 would feel like.

Hope it's your approval on it's way Oana! Here's hoping for lots of approvals! I'm officially moved in today and it's way too crowded in here. :P

Oh I really hope it's true that they're processing the petitons recieved round July 15th, I'm getting so worried, ours was recieved on July 31st and it seems like everyone else has already got their NOA2. It's such a painful thing to wait day in day out! I can't help but feel disappointed every single day, very wearisome! If they are going to do background checks do they inform us or do we just sit and wait forever and assume that they're doing checks?

I got touched again on the 26th; I think it could be my Senator's office at work. Touched now Nov 25 and 26, Dec 17, Jan 23 and 26. So weird.

PS- the 6 months thing is 6 months from when they last updated, not from the current date.

NOA 2. Really?

I know, i wanted to say, 'but people in october and november are getting approved". the guy was not the brightest bulb on the tree and didnt know what he was talking about. he was reading what my status says online in a robotic voice:

"Current Status: Case received and pending.

On July 23, 2008, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case."

I said, yes thats correct. thats what the website says. Can you tell me anything else, am i in security checks? Then he said, 'well pending means we havent made a decision on your case yet, so its pending." (haha, really! no kidding!) 'I said 'yes its pending, and the website says to contact you after 6 months'.

He was clueless and said, well we are working on July 15 cases at VSC. I said, "i'm at CSC". He said irritably, "yes, thats what i said, CSC."

haha. so idk.

The funny thing is - when I call they say they are working on cases from April 3rd. So do they just pick a date a few weeks before yours and tell you that you are getting "SO CLOSE" just to get you off the phone?

Thats my idea.
