did you tell USCIS that you met each other on WoW? maybe because of that?

Why would that matter? Why would it be worse than all those people here who met on dating websites? I know nothing about WoW (nor about dating websites), and my fiancé and I met in real life, but seeing how 90% of the people here met through some dating website and most of them breeze through the process (much faster than us, who actually LIVED together in the US), I don't think it's fair to suggest someone is waiting longer because they met on WoW.

Hi Everyone, just checking in. Sara I can't believe they told you to wait 180 days! This is insanity!

Well my Fiance has been home for a month now and I want you all to know it was sooooooo worth the wait!

It is so nice to have him here every day. Even if I only see him for an hour some days (I work 13 hour shifts 3 days a week) I am so grateful. And our relationship is so much stronger now that we invested 15 months apart waiting for each other. After everything we have been through together I know our bond will never be broken. So everyone just try to stay busy and know you will someday get your reward for making it through this horrible process.

Oh and get packet 3 ready now. I didn't and it was very stressful to try and rush all the paperwork you need across the ocean. My paperwork got lost (even though I paid $30 extra to send it registered mail) and then I had to rush and try to get everything AGAIN! So I could resend it in time for the interview! Make a copy of EVERYTHING you send in packet 3. Also send it DHL. They got my papers to stockholm in 36 hours and it didn't get lost!

Chris & Mara-they lost your case TWICE!?

Yep they have....

Chris & Mara-they lost your case TWICE!?

I too was shocked to see that they lost your case twice. How did you find out that your case was lost in the first place? Sometimes I wonder...how would we even know if our case got stuck?

We keep ringing and pestering and they told us outright the first time when Chris went in for a meeting. We then expedited our case on the USCIS's suggestion, and now the Chief of Staff at the DC office cannot locate our file, they know it got received at Vermont, but after that it simply vanished again, no NOA1 or anything for the April submission.

did you tell USCIS that you met each other on WoW? maybe because of that?

Why the would it matter that we meet on a video game? Seems like an odd thing to be holding a case up. Especially since unlike a lot of people who are on here, we didn't meet each other in person, get engaged on the 2nd day and then leave and not see each other till the visa.

Besides on our forms we said "meet online through friends" nothing about it being Wow, or an internet dating site or the what not.

Just got off the phone to Chris, our lawyer had called and left us a Voicemail with the following information:

USCIS requested a continuance of two days till Friday, this is good on the fact that they were allowed up to 4 days but choose to take only 2. He then went and approached their bench after the session and asked them straight up "Do you intend to fight this" apparently they responded to have little to no intention of fighting it.

So he thinks that this will be done simply and quickly (i really hoped his is right) he also hinted at the fact that he has a feeling there is a chance that they will front court with our NOA2 in hand on Friday. But we will have to wait and see. I will keep you all posted.

Hopefully this will have a positive outcome...

Got a freakin RFE.

well u could sort of look at that in a positive light, it means they are looking at ur petition and its not sitting collecting dust under someones uneven desk or chair

sara

That's true. I'd say that if you hear from USCIS and it's not an approval, the next best thing is an RFE cause that means they're actively working your file.

Yeea that is good news but here is what pisses me off about the whole deal. Before I submitted the petition I went to the immigration office and asked the people behind the desk, "Is everything legit? Is there anything else I need before I send this out?" Dude behind the counter said it was just fine and I shouldn't have any problems. Dumb F#$ker. So yea it is a mix of good news and bad news. Oh yea I just found out that I am transferring out of my current duty station to the other side of the country in 4 weeks. That is adding to my stresses as well. I need a beer dammit.

This just in........

well it could be worse, we HIRED an attorney to take care of our petition he no longer sends us any return email, or return phone calls, everything he told us about anything the lady that is now answering us when she feels like returning a email states different than he did, and on top of all of that he didnt send a cover letter when sending our petition addressing the two issues that we felt we needed to hire him for to begin with, he is also a member of vj last time i got into a snit about this mess of ours he called me so im guessing i hope he reads this post and calls i have already sent numerous emails asking to talk to him and for him to be the attorney handling our case as he is the attorney we paid the money to for it

anyways thanks for letting me rant its one of those days
