Well, people, I am happy to inform you that officially we are out of this club, as of April 22 2009 !!!:dance::dance::dance:

It was a loooooong journey (10 months) and it was no piece of cake! Last night at aprox 4 am when my fiance called to give me the news I was not sure if I was dreaming, or it was for real. I had to turn the pc on, and check it our for myself.

So, besides the fact that they signed for receiving the RFE on April 3rd and they say in an e-mail they received it April 15th, I am quite happy.

Question: what next? How do I keep track of things with NVC ? (Gee, I thought I would never get to ask this!)

Yay congratulations...at last!!! This most certainly requires a happy dance!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

You will probably have found the number for DOS already but it's 202 6631225. Good Luck with the rest of your journey!

Hey Oana31, I'm glad to see your petition got approved. I hope things go better for you now that you are out of USCIS.

I was also curious, what did they send you an RFE for?

(they seemed to send the RFE late for you - at 8 or 9 months)

Hey, there! My RFE was sent because they needed information about how we actually met, and how we got in touch in the last 2 years! But we provided those things...we just sent them again, this time with a long letter of bla-bla about how we kept in touch from 1991 until today ! (Imagine, it was a LONG story!)

Thanks everybody for your congratulations!!! I hope it will be shorter from now on!

I noticed that many people received NOA2 without any status change online or email notification... I am worried that our case may have been approved already but possibly lost mail??? just getting worried....

Its unlikely to be lost in the mail...even if the USCIS NOA2 did not arrive in the mail, you would still receive the NVC notice shortly after....and if that one got lost too, your fiance would receive packet three from the consulate...very unlikely any of those will go missing in the mail, and all three would have to go missing for you to not hear anything. I think you have a better chance at winning Lotto :)

You haven't filled in your profile info..I'm curious where your fiance if from and which service center you are applying at.

By the way, we are at 6 1/2 months waiting....
