I am getting married and we will be having our baby around Jan 28 2009. I looked at Blue Cross worldwide site but they dont have hospitals on thier list where my wife lives. We are think she will have to travel to Bangkok to have anything major done.

Has anyone work with Blue Cross in Thailand that come from the USA ?

John

To get your best and accurate answers, why don't you propose this question to your local Blue Cross Plan. Changes are made everyday in regard to coverage and access under a Health Insurance Plan, so don't base such an important event on answers that are not 100% correct.

BCBS will not pay for any besides urgent or emergent services. I highly doubt that they will cover birth overseas. But if they were going to pay for it, I think you would have to pay the bills first then get reimbursted by BCBS.

Yes I know for sure they will do via reimbursted, I was told they do that for sure. the company is self insured.

Just want to hear if anyone used blue cross worldwide ..

When I went overseas I called and talked to blue cross and they sent me a list of providers in Vietnam. I was thinking of going to Thailand also and they sent me a list of providers for there also. I was told if I used any provider on the list that I would obly have to pay my regular co pay but off the list that I would have to pay and then get reimbursed when I get back. But in my case my friend works for blue cross and just asked her.
