yay for the world. who cares?

So I guess there won't be an imminent global test on Obama if he is elected. So much for the new carrion fowl offal coming from McCain then on the matter of international relations.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

yay for the world. who cares?

You should care.

Sly

when the world can vote for the us president, then i will. until then, it's a non-story.

Ah, the next election should be fun then! Because I will be able to vote!

Seeing as we, the immigrants coming here from the world, will be able to vote eventually, you should care.

Oh, and the whole "if y'all want to get something done globally, you should give a teensiest ####### about what others think of you so you have more success when trying to get something done" should make you care too.

I am not saying that if the world tells America "you need to vote this way" you should, that's dumb. What I am saying is that people from the world, who have formulated opinions on America and who should run it and how it should be run before they even got here, move here on a continuous and regular basis and will eventually vote (if they become a citizen). That's what you should care about.

In general..who cares what polls indicate?

(Do they really change anyone's opinion?)

Seriously. Am I supposed to look at this poll and suddenly change my vote because the majority picks someone else? 89% in Kenya. What a shocker. lol

I've never been polled, have you?

so if they have an opinion about america and who should run america, and we don't vote that way, will they still see a reason to come? :P

given current immigration trends, i don't see how enough could make a dent in elections in the usa in the foreseeable future.

Ya, it's important that we have good standing in the world, but I don't see how these polls are all that important. Because someone in Kenya wants me to vote for Obama isn't going to make me change my mind. As I've learned from my husband's family and friends and various friends from around the world, I've noticed most people have no clue how the US runs its country. I have a hard time caring what someone who doesn't even understand the electoral college or 3 branches of government thinks about who I should vote for. I'm sure they'd all be thrilled if we all decided which candidate we wanted to win in their respective countries.

And Cassie, no I don't care about what the people who have preformed opinions regarding the running of the US think once they become citizens because it's my vote and my opinion. Everyone else if free to have theirs and vote the way they choose. What someone thinks 3-5 years + after moving here doesn't concern me. Especially since that's a relatively low % of the voters.

The world is retarded. If they had a clue they wouldn't be looking at either of these jokers. Good thing they're not voting.

Also not surprising to see your usual suspects not caring what the world thinks. Maybe we can go it alone in the war on everyone terror. #### the world!

Unfortunately, the world is made up of individual nations which are not usually supposed to interfere with other nations' elections (though obviously, this has been honoured in-breach).

And you've got several who are willing to "sass" the US president immediately post-election, including:

  • Nejad of Iran
  • Beitullah Mehsud (albeit he's not actually the head of a recognised nation) of Waziristan
  • (saving the worst of the bunch for last) mad czar Vlad Putin

We? Did you have anything to do with it? Did I? Hmmmmmm...

This poll is individuals opinions around the world. Not the leaders of each country.
