we called the call center today to attempt to schedule an interview as per Grace' instruction, and the call center representative told us that we are not yet qualified to schedule an interview appointment as they are still reviewing our papers, but they she said that our papers are already in USEM, we need to follow up after two weeks, thats another two weeks...

i thought the waiting game is over...

Hi there!

Hope this helps.. Based on my experienced they really always tells you that call them back after two weeks for them to review the papers but I call them back like 5days after and they give me an appointment. It usually happens, for you to stop wondering call them back and they will for sure set you for an appointment and medical interview. Goodluck!

We are in the same boat. My fiance called the manila embassy call center and was told that she could not schedule until she received the appointment letter. I believe she called the same day as you did. I received the letter from the NVC saying they will send my petition to the embassy and I also received my MNL case number.

It seems like we are behind everyone else as far as the whole process goes.

So, should I have her call again? Should we wait for the appointment letter?

Thanks,

-Tyson

Yeah, you should wait for the appointment letter from us embassy. But some of the K1 beneficiary didnt recieved their appointment letter from US Embassy. It only takes like 20days after the NVC sent your fiance a letter for your case. Some were a month. Sometimes they wont get you a appointment date and medical date if you wont recieved this. Just wait for a little while. I know its kinda frustrating but this is how it is. I hope you get your letter so soon. Goodluck and have faith in God

I think what I will do is call back in a few days. I am way to impatient to wait. LOL! There is no way I will let them lose my paperwork. I know since both of our last names are S we are on the bottom of the pile.

We shall press on!

Hi there guys... I supposed what they said here is true... that it's better to have your Fiance call them than us coz they are more accommodating with US citizens. My fiance called last Oct. 22.. he was even pissed coz the operator's kinda talking like a drunk ...as in so so so slow... Well... my fiance bought that pin thingy, paid $18 good for 3 calls....

Anyway... my point is have your fiance call them and they will get a result.

Goodluck to us who will have our medical very soon!!! :innocent:

Alright, so let me get this straight. They will let me (US CITIZEN) schedule this interview but they wont let my fiance? ARGH. I called the NVC and they said they sent my petition on 10/16/08. It takes maybe 5 days for the embassy to get the petition via DHL, right? So, on Monday should I call and attempt to schedule the interview? Is there any wisdom in spending the money to call so soon? Am I being extremely impatient?

Thanks,

-Tyson

that's what we are planning to do too, to call back after 5 days, so on monday or tuesday we will try to attempt to schedule an interview for me, and geez! our last names also starts with S so lets hope that they are working on a FIFO basis and not in alphabetical order :)

Hola Tyson! Yes.... they are very accommodating with the US citizen like you, unlike if your fiancee here they will tell her to call after two weeks. Worried about the cost? Don't you think it's cheaper to have that unlimited time of 3 calls for only $18 unlike if your fiance will call them for $0.98 a minute and before she will be able to talk to the live operator it takes like forever :bonk: .... I would suggest to try to call on monday... get ready your case number, her contact number, her address, her bday...details like that...

As for me, that's only a suggestion if waiting is killing you already

Goodluck to all :star:

Hey!

We got our letter from the embassy confirming that we can now schedule an appointment! Gotta wait until Monday but we are both very happy! I guess it looks as though we were way to impatient. We will be calling Monday to get an appointment. I will let everyone know what date we get.

FYI: Letter was dated 10/23. Received 10/25. NVC had sent out our petition on 10/16 to the embassy in Manila.

YAY!!
