The burden of the US economic crisis on Filipinos

for your information, we call each other husband and wife the moment we got engaged, clear? and i am pretty sure we are not the only one :)

and i thought people here on visa journey are nice, not to mention some of the moderators (not all) oh well, i am so disappointed...

for those who look down on filipina, what a pity!

just because we dont have an office job does not mean we are not independent, i, for instance, dont have an office job because i work home-based and i earn my own money,

and oh the kitchen! and household chores! i can take care of all that and have my home-based job at the same time! multi-tasking is one of my specialty! i just love it when my husband praises me for being such!

Which husband is that, if you are filing for a K-1 visa with an American?

Why Do I Love To Cook?

I love to make people happy and amazingly enough nothing can put a big satisfied smile on someones face after a good hearty meal. That's why I love to cook.

i am pretty sure you got it wrong, thats not what she meant about the workers, even me and my husband sometimes joke about not having an office job because he is sooooooo afraid someone will steal me away from him, hehehe... my husband knows that i have a degree, and before he met me, i was living independently, when i get to the US, i know for sure that i will earn more than him IF HE WANTS ME TO WORK, but the thing is, he wants me to stay home and take care of him and everything, he is the head of the family and he wants to provide for me, which is totally fine, and i absolutely have no problem with that, now, if i want to have a job, its not gonna be a problem as long as i can take care of him and the house, i guess my point is, HE NEEDS ME AT HOME, i really dont have to work because he can provide for me,

well you certainly ain't doing that by being on the internet. don't you have some cleaning to do? :P

If that doesn't just pull at your heart strings... I don't know what will!!!

My god, are we back in the '50s and early '60s? So much for women's rights, equal pay for equal work, or eliminating sexist ideals.

And they wonder why the get picked on?

This relationship is SOOOOOOOO stereotypical it isn't even funny. Western man marries Filipino girl, then locks her up at home, keeping her barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

But he "wants her to stay home and take care of him". Wow, sounds convenient for him. What, he couldn't take care of himself and has to go get a mail order bride?

Whatever!

As for calling each other husband and wife, without being married... good luck with that!

ughhhh...who besides Marilyn (I like you Marilyn) but who besides Marilyn and you ladies wants to stay home and be their husband's maid? I mean seriously. Who would put up with a husband that wants them to stay home? I'd rather my husband want me to be challenged in my job and work hard so I don't get bored with it and I'm happy. I also think you should challenge each other and push each other to be better. I'm not into this ####### where the wife isn't as important as the husband just because she is a woman. #### that sh*t!

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

They can still export their women.

Why the negative comment about Filipino women?

Well Colombia also exports drugs. The Philippines doesn't have anything else to export.

In case you don't know, we also export a lot of pineapples and bananas. The Philippines is not called a banana republic for nothing.

We also export our doctors, nurses, physical therapists, computer programmers. Our brains are being drained dry by First World countries because your citizens are too lazy to go to school to get an education.

By the way, USA, UK, Europe thank you for exporting your financial crisis to the Philippines. Much appreciated.

And hey First World, welcome to the Third World. We're happy to see you here.

Amen to that Pinay wife. it's amazing (and irritating) how ignorant and insulting and mean some people from the so called "first world" countries can be.

i really dont understand why would have problems with that kind of arrangement when we dont, thats what we want and we dont care what other people would say,

mail order bride, haha! whatever, but yes, he couldn't take care of himself and he needs me, and vice versa, we need each other because we cannot live without each other, and we can have whatever arrangement we want, and if you have a problem with that, good luck to you!

i dont really care if he locks me up at home (which i dont think he will), keep me barefoot and get me pregnant in the kitchen, in fact, I WANT THAT, now, got a problem with that?

and dont worry about we calling each other husband and wife, its not gonna take long because when i pass my physical and interview and got my visa on my hand, we are gonna get married the soonest possible time, to make that husband and wife thing official, :) and besides, we want to call each other husband and wife, i dont know why you are having problem with that :)

If that doesn't just pull at your heart strings... I don't know what will!!!
