I just added 4 recipes in the cooking thread. Can you get those in? They are for Charmoola, Melwi, Moroccan potatoes, and Moroccan squash. So yummy! Oh yes, you can use my name.

As for the name, I like whatever anyone chooses, but no matter what name is picked it might be good to note that these are made by Americans, so as not to be too intimidating to a non Arab cook.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

OK OK .........I don't cook but I'll buy one. Maybe Ibrahim can try some dishes while he waits for his EAD.

When is the projected printing date of these books?

jJ

noted  Thanks girl :luv: I'm hoping to get them here before Christmas but there are a TON of recipes to get typed up. I have been considering that heritage site. I think this project may be a little bit too big for my husband to be able to do.

Sereia, I have a question about this recipe...

Malabi- desert serves 10

By Sereia: 03/09/2007

Ingredients:

4-1/2 c milk is this 4 & 1/2 c. or 4: 1/2 cups???

3 oz sugar

2 oz cornstarch

3 T rosewater

Combine 3-1/2 c milk and sugar over medium heat.

Whisk remaining milk with cornstarch.

When milk boils, add cornstarch and return to a boil.

Add rose water and cook 30 seconds.

Remove and let cool slightly.

Transfer to nice moulds and chill at least 12 hours.

It can be served-up fancy style with a raspberry caramel and toasted coconut, and toasted pistachios.

Caramel:

7 oz raspberry puree

3-1/2 oz sugar same with this one. is it 3 & 1/2 oz or 3: 1/2 ounces??

2 T water

1/4 c rose syrup

If I do it with the heritage site, they will be no less than 20 dollars. I figure the money can be sent via pay pal coz that is the most secure way to do it for both myself and everyone else. I'm only about 1/4 of the way thru getting the recipes in order. I am still hoping to have it ready to go in the next 2 weeks. If I use the heritage site, it will take roughly 10 days for shipping and I guess a few days to a week shipping from me to the requestee. I'm really trying to get them done and to everybody before Christmas but it's gonna be a difficult thing to accomplish. I'll let each requestee know via pm when its about done and ready to send out so they can get their addresses to me and get paypalled.
