PCC - # of originals

I have not received my K3 approval yet but am trying to acquire PCC from Ahmedabad, India. I would be pursuing K3 and CR1/IR1 in parallel in a hope to convert the interview into CR1/IR1.

Regarding PCC - the police commissioner's office told my spouse that they do not issue more than 1 original of PCC as per their rule. Passport office does issue 2 originals however.

1. For those who have followed K3 and CR1/IR1 in parallel, do you need 2 PCC (1 for K3 and 1 for CR1/IR1) from district police commissioner's office?

2. If any applicants are from Ahmedabad, can you please share your experience on how you obtained multiple originals from commissioner's office? Were you able to get PCC before NOA2? If so, what documents did you have to show?

3. Does NVC need original PCC only or does it accept a notarized true copy (in the event that I can only get 1 original for K3)?

Please help me. We have been trying to get this PCC since a month now. Appreciate it.

PS: Please do not move this to South Asia forum. I have posted it there but no one replied to the above question. There are more people here who went through K3 and IR1/CR1 in parallel and hence, am hoping that I would get some answers here.

Thanks.

We were in the same boat.

You are only going to receive 1 from the district police officers office.

It will be a personal choice which one you go for K3/CR1. If the USCIS approves both petitions at the same time, which was the case with ours, you might want to go ahead and just go for the CR1. The K3 petition left the NVC on the 26th of Sept, however the embassey did not even send the letter (which got lost in the mail) until the 22 OCT. If you have all your ducks in a row, it would be only about 1 months difference between the K3 and the CR1.

Keep in mind that your PCC is only good for 6 months, so only go and get it when you know you have your USCICS approval or know you are about to get. They will not accept the DS 230 I&II docs and supporting docs until fee is paid. It is all in the matter of timing.

Also, don't make the same mistake I did, here are some hints.

Birth Certificate. Send your petitioner both orginal and orginal english translation

Sign your DS 230 Part I in blue - so they know it is an orginal

Have your petitioner sign the AOS (I-864) in blue

Have all orginal documents accompany english translations.

I spoke to NVC this week and they told me they will except a copy of the PCC.

I sent them the wrong one and the rep said have him fax you a copy thats fine.

Unless it is different for India.
