Hello to all! I have a question related to a post I saw a while back but cannot seem to find! It was about US civil surgeons in Western Canada. I was wondering if anyone had a list of the doctors for Canada. I am from SK and I believe the post said there were NO USCIS CIVIL SURGEONS in SK anymore! :angry: How long does it take for the results in Vancouver or Calgary? Same day? Next day? or Mailed out to you?

You can find the list on this page: http://www.consular.canada.usembassy.gov/i...sa_relative.asp. Look for the "Authorized Panel Physicians for Immigration Medical Examinations" section and click on the "List of Authorized Physicians in Canada" button. It'll give you a PDF with a complete list for Canada.

Delivery of the results could vary from one clinic to the other so your best bet is to call them and ask.

Dr Ian Morgan in Vancouver can give you the results the same day, but I think he has appointments only on Wednesday mornings. You can schedule your appointment with him around your interview, however.

Dr Viljoen in Calgary can get you the results in about 3 to 4 days. My husband had his appointment on a Thursday and picked up his results on the following Monday. If you need them mailed to you, he can do that by courier, but you need to pay the courier fee and obviously it will add a few days. My husband's experience with Dr Viljoen was good, but others have found him to be not so pleasant. I've not heard anything negative about Dr Morgan so far, but he is also more expensive. Supposedly they were going to get new civil surgeons, but I guess they haven't.

Thanks everyone! I'm still bummed out about no doctors in SK! :angry: I would love to go to Calgary to get it done being that I have family there, and a friend I haven't seen in a while but that means one more trip on top of going to Vancouver for an interview! It really depends on what season it is I guess! I don't want to be wandering around Vancouver by myself :whistle: How much do the doctors charge? Calgary vs. Vancouver? Anyways thanks for your help!

The Medical in Vancouver is only on Wednesdays and results are ready same day at 2pm.

Personally, I would probably try to get an appointment in Vancouver a couple of days before the interview. Get it done then, pick up the results and head to the interview. I mean you're already flying, might as well go a couple of days before and pay a little extra for hotel. I am sure that will still be cheaper than driving/flying to Calgary and save you a few hours.

The dude in Edmonton no longer does them!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Indeed you can ask for specific dates. After you get your package 3, you can write on your sheet to fax back when you want your interview. Explain that your medical will have to be a Wednesday in Vancouver. I'd even phone the Vancouver medical place and see how long in advance they're booking appointments.

Vancouver is pretty accomodating.

Let us know how that goes for you!
