OK, to the original poster: I have done a little research, and as a K1 visa holder, I can confirm that you DO NOT need to apply for an ESTA prior to departure. All you need to do is fill in the white I-94 & the blue customs form which the cabin crew will give you on the plane, OK? Don't concern yourself with any VWP issues - it doesn't apply to you.

Well your supposed to, I used to work in travel and always had to get the info, usually if you book it direct with the airline they ask you to put it in there and then.

That explains it then - I've never booked direct with an airline. All that extra info, particularly the question as to which U.S. address I'll be staying at, is asked of me verbally at check-in.

This may be a little off topic but, I would do the math and KNOW the date that your visa should expire. When they stamp your visa--CHECK THE DATE!! They shorted my fiance about two weeks. Apparently, someone didn't know how to reset the stamp! They also put her in the computer with the wrong type visa. We found that out when we went to get a SSN. Everyone was very friendly and we got it fixed but I was embarrassed--it looked for a while like everyone in America was inept. at best.

Hello everyone!

I have k1 visa and I am leaving to my fiance this Saturday.

I've read at some point about a form that needs to be filled in in the plane.Do you know anything about that?Do you have any sample of it?

Thanks a lot!!!!!!

take care

The forms are simple. All overseas passengers must fill out the customs form to report what they are carrying that could be taxed.

Someone told me recently that you have to fill these out online now and not on the plane i dont know how right that is.

I am not sure how this would be possible....

I have heard it being talked about but I don't think they have implimented it yet. You do have to fill out Additional Passenger Information with the airline prior to travelling from the UK but that's the only thing you do online at the moment.

Thanks a lot!

What is that Additional Passenger Information? Is it another forms besides I-94?Where can I find it?

And what does vwp means?another form???Is it visa waiver??Do I need that?where can I find all these?

WVP = Visa Waiver Program, it doesn't apply to you as you are travelling on a K1 visa.

Additional Passenger info is usually asked for by the airline, you usually fill out extra details like where you are going etc on their website. I don't know what country you are travelling from but we do it when travelling from the UK.

I travel from Romania.I bought a ticket trough a travel agency:Marshall and I fly with Lufthansa. They haven't asked any additional passenger information yet.Do you think they 'll do that at the airport.

And I also have another q:Do you know if I can pass the customs with personal jewlery in my hand bag?do I need to declare them?Or is it just like evry other metal...? :star:

The people who question US-bound passangers before they get to the departing gate will ask you for your address in the States - you tell them and they enter it for you. Sometimes at the check-in they will give you the form to fill about the address in the States - they gave it to me too even though it turned out I did not need to fill it out as a PR.

Jewelry - you don't have to declare it - I brought most of mine - it was close to a kilogram in my carry on baggage - no questions asked and it is personal items.

Have a safe trip!
