I was wondering, since my wife's income was below the poverty guideline to petition me as her spouse, do you think she still need to provide her W-2 as an initial evidence? Besides, she got a letter of employment and her previous 6 months pay stubs. The fact is, we found someone to be our joint sponsor (which is her uncle in california). Do you think it is necessary to provide those documents as an initial evidence? I'm aware that my wife is still my petitioner and her uncle is a joint sponsor. I've read that W-2 is enough along with pay stubs and letter of employment as a proof.

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

I-864 REQUIRES copy of past year's (2007) IRS return, the 1040 is worthless without copies of W2 and/or 1099 to back up the numbers on the 1040.

Better yet have her order a simple IRS transcript for past 3 years, they are FREE and acceptable in place of (1040/W2/1099).

http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html (just call the 800 number and order them 4506-T is NOT needed)
