things are getting tougher when the guy reached at that age of 50 to 60... woman are likely not being proud of their husband at those times... but hopefully marriage life will stay intact no matter what.

why do women hate guys who are 50-60 years old?

white hairs and mustaches is growing... wrinkles and voices are changing.. moods are changing as well... i have no idea but maybe like that.

Note to self: Check first thing tonight if mustache is growing yet - if so, make sure to dump old sucker ASAP!

So what if you are the same age, but he/she has a serious accident and they become deformed. Do you dump them because you are no longer proud of them?

Well heck, I am only 37 and I'm already going grey....and I'm getting wrinkles...and I'm one moody chick!!! I certainly hope if this is what certain women are hoping to avoid they don't ever grow old themselves. That's just crazy to me.

If you love someone, you'll surely get irritated with him/her and have moments where you get grumpy, but to suddenly want to dump someone because they are old....did you think they would stay young forever?

Weird.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder!! i know my ideas of whats appealing in a man and what would make a perfect life mate will be different to another persons. i also know those ideas have changed and grown over the years i have gotten older.

You will find that many (if not most) of the couples that come to this forum have a larger than average age gap, being that they are from different countries & I imagine a fair amount met through an internet site. It's a case by case basis... in fact I am more than 10 years older than my fiancee... but it's the best relationship I've ever had! First of all I look young for my age (people think I am 5-10 years younger than I am) and my interests are of a younger person... I listen to Linkin Park, Metallica, Korn, etc., play video games & I'm active as well. If I were with someone my age they would seem old to me!

haha rock n roll! I like Linkin Park anyways

I don't see how a couple can be together if they have more than a 45 day age difference between them. I just don't see how it could work.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Large age gaps are just weird.

I'm offended!

My wife was born 2 months before I graduated High School, so we have an 18 year gap. Every morning and night I fall to my knees and beg for forgiveness from Joseph, Mary and the little baby Jesus (not really). The way we look at it is that if anyone has a problem with it they can go f themselves. Most of it is rooted in jealousy.

I will admit that the problems we have had are directly attributed to the age difference rather than the language, distance or culture.

I sense some people getting offended by this thread, let's see....

Yeah, I agree, ridiculously big age gaps are weird, I just don't think a 20 y/o can happen to be at the same page as a 40 y/o, I mean one is in the beginning of her/his life and the other has been through it all, I don't think one would be willing to skip the supposed best years of their lives or the other would be very eager to experience it all over again, of course there are a bunch of 40 y/o the dresses like teenagers and try to act like them, but they just act retarded and I wouldn't think someone would marry an weirdo like that just because love is great.

Just my 2 cents.

When we were in our younger years (like Elementary or High School). Most of us girls are dreaming to marry our prince charming one day. Someone who is handsome, young and willing to fight for us. But as the years goes by, things are getting different.

We discovered a lot of things that made us realized that physical feature is not a basis to prove how much we should love other people.

Hmm, i'm just thinking here... Have you ever dream to marry or to love someone who is 10 years or 20 years older than you?

This is especially to the couples who has an age gap. Like for the woman is 25 yrs old and their man is 40 yrs old, something like that.

I met a lot of guys who is 10 years or 20 years older than me, but i dunno why i didn't choose to be with one of them. Even they offered me their acres of land and their mansion house in california, i never tried to like them. I'm not being rude here but i just want to make sure that if i will love someone, my heart should be pure and right wthout any wrong motive.. Am i right?

Well, everything happens for a reason.

My husband is 25 and i'm 25 too. Never thought i will marry the same age as mine. Is there any reason behind of marrying an old man or simply you love them?

Don't get offended by this.

Just a freedom of speech!

My husband is 34 and I am 27..

I would say there are various opinions on age difference in relationship, depending on who you are. Somehow it seems that when a person gets to a certain age the difference in age between partners in a relationship does not matter as much. Many men have had relationships with women who are younger than they are. With regard to marriage, it has been proven that the age gap between partners increases between the first and the second marriage. Mind you, depending on the situation, an excessively large age gap can be dysfunctional in some cases. As previously mentioned, there are several variables which determine if age gap actually influences the success of a romantic relationship or not.

The important thing is that the younger person is of age to be involved in a relationship with an older person. The two in a relationship need to be mature in their attitude toward the relationship.

In most relationships, it is not age that matters but rather spiritual, emotional and mental compatibility between two people. Each person needs to have qualities that the other person is looking for and wants in a relationship. The maturity of two people is important in a relationship, regardless of their age. Maturity does not always relate to age either. A young person can be more, mature in attitude than an older person for that matter. It is important to share interests and values and to be on the same wavelength as each other. When two people really connect and love each other in a genuine way, age does not matter.
