I'll check back in in 20 years and let ya know how we're doing. :D

Only time will tell. But who cares really, it's nobody's business who you marry. They're not the ones who have to live with them day in and day out.

I sense some people getting offended by this thread, let's see....

Yeah, I agree, ridiculously big age gaps are weird, I just don't think a 20 y/o can happen to be at the same page as a 40 y/o, I mean one is in the beginning of her/his life and the other has been through it all, I don't think one would be willing to skip the supposed best years of their lives or the other would be very eager to experience it all over again, of course there are a bunch of 40 y/o the dresses like teenagers and try to act like them, but they just act retarded and I wouldn't think someone would marry an weirdo like that just because love is great.

Just my 2 cents.

mustache ... there are inventions called razors

white hairs ... who cares (if it is such a problem ... a little hair color ... or ... a clean shaven head) ... there again a women would never consider coloring hair ....

wrinkles ... voice change ... moods ... and the woman is exactly the same as she was on the day of the marriage years earlier ...

age is in a persons head ... either it's accepted or it's not.

Who has time to waste worrying about this when there is a life to live, and special people to share it with ...

does this mean ... you'll have to wait until he reaches 55 before you can go on a mustache ride?

I remember a 20-something girl expressing an interest in a 50-something man and asking me about him a few years ago. Well, she didn't know he was my dad -- it felt strange to tell her he was "happily married, thank-you-very-much." There are plenty of stunning gray-haired men and women around and plenty of people who prefer them. Sometimes with age comes confidence, stability, stronger communication skills, a real sense of what you want in life and where you're headed -- not always but sometimes -- and those qualities can be very attractive. People just like what they like. There's nothing wrong with preferring a partner your own age or falling in love with someone of a different generation. Main thing is to be yourself and love who you love. The opinions of others do not matter.

My sister was 21 when she married her 40 yr old husband (same age as my mom). they have 2 kids now and they VEERRRY love each other.

And My Brother(27) is married to his wife who is 43 right now.

Love is Not blind they just found love.

This is similar to our age gap - I am 41 and he is 25. Our temperaments match and I think that is key - we are both kinda nerdy, into books and nature and stuff like that, also neither of us is into drinking or partying so we get along well together. If he wanted to go out partying and I wanted to always stay at home that wouldn't be good - I've heard of some age gap couples where that has been an issue.

Why should the younger person be skipping anything just because he or she is married to an older person? They still have a life as an individual, still can hang out with friends their own age, still enjoy their own music and other interests. Unless the couple is joined at the hip and totally codependent, they're each going to have individual interests, some of which they share with one another and some not.

So are you going to trade your husband for a younger guy once he reaches this time in his life?
