Thanks you all for your support and well wishes. My wife received her visa this morning in Mumbai. We will post more details of the interview experience soon.

In her visa (stamp inside her passport), the marital status indicates that she is signle. Is this something we should be worried about, go back and get it corrected? The cover stapled to the yellow packet they gave her also indicates she is single.

For those who received the Visa, can you confirm what the marital status is on your visa stamp?

Thanks,

B.

I would have it corrected. You don't want to have the POE denying you entry citing discrepancies.

Get it corrected before the damage is done.

CR-1/IR-1 is for married people.

Ask your wife to go back to Consulate and before that you call the cosulate and discuss in detail.

Hmm! I didn't know they put marital status on visas. Are you sure it is not the number of entries allowed?

Does it make sense that a CR-1 would have a single entry provision attached to it?

Also, on the cover letter attached to the packet they gave her, it indicates the marital status is single.

My wife went back to the embassy today. After waiting for sometime, they re-issued the visa and corrected THEIR mistake.

The height of stupidity on THEIR part: Issue a CR-1 visa, and assign "SINGLE" as marital status.

When petitioner/Beneficiary makes even a tiniest mistake, they are all over it!!!!! It is business as usual when they make careless mistakes..

Urrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........
