EXPLAIN ME the reasons why my city is "As of December 3, 2007, ranked the second safest city in the US with a population greater than 500,000 and Hispanic or Latino of any race are 86.62% of the population."

Besides that, we are across Juarez, which because of the drug traffic, is rated as one of the most dangerous cities in Mexico with 1200 deaths in 2008 and counting. Still, El Paso can manage to be ranked as one of the safest cities in the US. Crime cannot be based on ethnicity but on economic need and education.

I would also have the advantage of posting all of the rampant crimes like beheading, drug wars and kidnappings going on in Mexico. Or do you think these crimes and the criminals who carry these crimes out solely live in Mexico?

This is another reason why immigration and the ease of illegal immigrants to move around in this country is a joke. On one hand the government requires 1,001 tests from people coming from 1st world countries. Yet on the other hand drug dealers and South American gang bangers like MS13 members are are able to literally walk into this nation and do as they please.

Yeah it really wasn't meant to be a jab at Jenn! or other mods.

I just wonder how many times is enough to have to put up with predictable stupid behavior that is blatantly in bad taste, motivated by really sick mindsets, and purely antagonistic to the majority of the members of the community. Reading, Columbia, and Wrightsville are perfect examples of this phenomenon. Violent crime and drug dealing are becoming major problems. It isn't at "critical mass" yet, so the white folks with the really big guns are just sitting back on the davenport in their country homes and watching the spics kill each other on WGAL. The day will come when they've had enough. The local police are keeping the violence contained to specific areas, but it's beginning to spill over. So be it, and let it come soon.

I've always said this but it's not good to generalize when it comes to these discussions. I've lived in Latino communites and have friends who still live in those communities without any issues. It may be certain parts of the country for whatever reasons but without any evidence to back it up, it's just another ignorant comment. It's like saying all Arabs are terrorists or all black people are on welfare or all white people are racists. Not true, right?

And on top of that to call Hispanics, Spics. Come one. I will ask you this, is that not an ignorant comment?

I understand that 110%. There is a fine line with simply generalizing and stating reality. The issue I have is when people throw out the race card the second the words Hispanic and crime are grouped in one sentence.

You also have to understand why all of this resentment towards the community. It is not as if it simply comes from people hating Hispanics. If a large group of Australians formed gangs and tore up neighborhoods in Mexico, people would hate us too there. I would think that resentment in this case would be a given.

When the sentence is structured to imply blame and uniqueness, then yes, racism tends to be a sticky situation. Then add to that the problem that is overgeneralization.

In Pennsylvania, where the Hispanic population increased by 41% from 2000 through 2007, Keystone United has been busy.

Members distribute fliers calling on residents to fight crime they say is committed by illegal immigrants, gangs and drug dealers. In September, members joined a rally against illegal immigration in Shenandoah that was organized after four white teens were arrested in connection with the beating death of a Latino illegal immigrant.

In this post I officially retract the word "spic" and substitute the word "hispanic". The observation including the word remains unchanged. I also retract the word "davenport", as it reveals my rather uncultured background.

And by the way, I am part German Jew, but somehow manage to be unoffended when people use interesting terms to describe my Jewish parentage. I also do not report posts to moderators when people use the term "whitey", which appears in this thread, and is a slang description of my ethnicity. Maybe I just have a thicker skin. Or maybe, people on this forum are just thin skinned.

As for my Chinese wife, well, she won't mind if you call her something more colorful. She'll just say it's a result of your low education. It has been proven again & again that when times are tough, hate groups flourish. This is because people are angry & don't where to direct their anger, so they find a particular group to be the scapegoats. Hitler and Nazi Germany is a perfect example of this; the country was in shambles & they needed someone to blame so they blamed the Jews.

The phrase "all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" by Edmund Burke applies here. Hate crimes should be punished swiftly and severely; they have no place in this country. Ignorance, racism and bigotry lead to hate crimes, so groups that condone these ideas should be closely watched.
