Since the hubby now works less than 5 miles from our house, we sold one of our cars and bought a scooter (not the one at the beginning of the post). Having a gas bill less than 6 dollars a week for it is pretty sweet!

With an over abundance of idiot drivers on the road, you can get killed on those things, absolutely no protection for the driver and certainly no match for an SUV driven by somebody glued to to a cell phone.

i think there needs to be legislation against people using cell phones whilst driving. the amount of accidents or near accidents i see on the road is enough to not make me want to drive here. this is slightly different, but last week we were going to the dentist and some older woman in an suv was driving and reading a newspaper at the same time, almost drove straight into our car. scared the living daylights out of both of us! that was a nice start to a dentist trip.

I had a motorcycle and a license for a long time, but only takes once, will only say, it's a miracle that I am still alive, head on collision by an idiot passing in a no passing zone, 0.15 seconds response time, 55 mph, I went flying without an airplane. Others were killed with broken necks, arms, and legs missing, was thinking I was saving money on gas, but the medical expenses were much much greater.

Also have a pilot's license, much safer and faster, and they tend to weed out the idiots in the air.

I think there needs to be legislation against cell phones. Just ban them entirely. Society did fine without them before, we can do fine without them now.
