Hey everyone, I was just curious to ask the members on this forum who already went through the AOS interview through visitor visa,

if they remember the questions that was asked during the interview? What kind of questions are asked and how long does the interview

last? I would love to hear everyones experience who adjusted from a visitor visa. but I would especially like to hear from all the

Canadians who have done this as well on their overall experience.

Thank you in advance and hope everyones journey goes smoothly.

i was asked how and when my husband and i met, our address and the usual "have you committed felony etc.. blah blah blah" type of questions found in one of the forms (I-485 i believe).. nothing about proving my non-intention to immigrate when i came as a tourist.

good luck

Hi,

I just passed my interview last week and I had an overstay

The Immigration Officer asked where we met and when we met. How long we have been married, wanted to see the original Marriage Certificate, kept Birth Certificates of our children. Asked if we all live together, how big our household was (4??), looked over the Affidavit of Support, went over the Application again, to make sure all information on there is correct. Went over the "crime questions" and kept the I-94.........

It last about 15-20 mins...........The immigration officer was very friendly...........

Read my review in here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry2285359

My interview was fast and painless. The longest time was spent at the waiting room.

The questions asked:

Date of Birth

Passport and ID (she asked for my passport an my husband's ID)

SSN

Where did you meet?

Have you ever been arrested?

That was all. Hope this helps and good luck with your journey.

We get there, he asks for our ID's (we used our Driver licenses) it kinda made sense because we share the same address and last name now. He wrote down the # and went ahead to ask me my full name, date of birth, if we had children, and if I had already had a laser visa (which is a tourist visa to come to the US of the size of a credit card) i answered no, I have a tourist visa posted on my passport and my old student visa. He said "ok" asked to look at it, took a glance at it and wrote down something.

He swore us in and then asked to see our marriage and birth certificates, he compared them with what he had on file (which was a huge one BTW) and gave them back. He asked if we had a rent contract or if we owned a house, we responded that we were living in my wife's uncle's house and we had a notarized letter from him stating that. He kept it and asked us if we had our 2007 income tax if not he was going to have to use my father-in-law's sponsorship, so at the end we didnt need a co-sponsor. We handed it to him, he kept it, first making sure we had a back up. then I was asked all those weird questions, have you ever helped somebody to cross into the US illegally? are you a member of the communist party?? (they should update this question, more like are you a member or a terrorist org. or something, haha), etc All questions were answered w/a NO and they he went ahead to approve us!! He wasn't mean, pushy or anything like that. SUPER EASY. 10 minutes and we were approved!

05/01/08 Green Card in mailbox!!

06/05/10 Real GREEN Card RECEIVED!

01/17/13 Sent application for US Citizenship!!!

01/19/13 Arrived to Arizona Lockbox

01/28/13 NOA received by mail and biometrics letter mailed as per uscis.gov
