Redneck is only derogatory as a racial slur to people who are white and overly sensitive to being called rednecks. I call rednecks, rednecks. Sorry, not a racist. Kinda hard to be racist against yourself. Redneck is a stereotype surrounding the lifestyle and location of certain individuals, and since most of the population that lives out in the rural areas tends to be white (perpetuating the "Stick to your own kind" modus operandi which makes the term famous), redneck is only derogatory as a location-based slur, not race, which is why it's commonly associated with southerners and ruralfolk. If you take it as a racial slur, too bad. Time for whites to stop being such wussies and stop acting like they're being victimized. It's rather pathetic.

But I think you're exaggerating a bit there in your "erroneous" comment. I don't deal in those kinds of stereotypes, as you know (or should know by now) but I do think that the argument that whites (whether Redneck or no) all over the country are somehow losing out in comparison to blacks because of things like Affirmative Action is a tad exaggerated.

Some people are oversensitive to such things. That's all.

Some of the nicest people I have met in America are from the country side. Both black and white. Fantastic people.

Some of the dumbest, crudest, self-centered, materialistic, dodgy, cunning, corrupt, racist, uncivilized, self absorbed, wankers are from cities and greater cities areas. Both black and white. So to hear SVRT make a claim that (Redneck) aka country folk are basically the scum of the earth, because they don't know any better, is a joke.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Most people I know who have had a 'run in' with Americans abroad are with people from major cities. Whereas when these same people have visited the US, they all had kind words and praise for the small towns and south of America. Yeah sure, I have heard the claim of how many people and only a small sample before but it is what it is.

Go to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and then go to some beach in LA, like like Malibu, and tell me which people are the biggest wankers. SVRT is right about one thing though, we are talking about a cultural difference rather than race issue here.

Where exactly have you traveled that you would conclude this? Sure urban areas tend to be full of minorities, but certainly not exclusively. In fact many rural areas are very high in minority numbers. In case you didn't know, a lot of Blacks live in trailers too.

"Choose" is a accurate word. There has been a huge "reverse migration" of blacks from the North down to the south, of late.

Pardon me while I help with a few corrections here.

First of all, I believe you intended to say that "Choose is AN accurate word".

You should never use "A" before a word that begins with a vowel. Instead you should use "AN".

Also, when you use the word black to describe a color, it is lower case, but when you use it as a pronoun to describe

a specific group of people, it should be capitalized, as in "Black".

The same way one would capitalize your name if they were to say, "Danno you are a racist son of a ######".

In the South, Blacks and Whites have always lived close together; they are used to each other. In the North, they mostly kept separate and are still getting used to each other. I have found the North to be more racist than the South because they tend to be covert and sneaky about it. At least, in the South, I always knew where I stood.
