I have the packet ready to go. I feel confident about the amount of items I have, but not confident in the fact that I don't have much spanning the entire 2 years. I didn't realize to start saving things until I researched the process at the beginning of 2008.

This is my table of contents:

• I-751 Application

• Copy of PR Card

• Lease (2006, 2007)

 Letter from Landlord

Financial Information

• Bank Information

 Letter of Explanation

 Union Bank & Wescom

 Copy of Check from Mutual Account

• Tax Information

 Tax Transcripts (2005, 2006, 2007)

 Stimulus Check Mailer

 Letter from Canada Revenue

• Joint Credit Accounts

• Life Insurance and Investment Beneficiary

 Health Insurance Statements & Correspondence

• Joint Utility Bills

• Auto Purchase

 Bill of Sale Ford Taurus & Nissan Frontier

 Mutual Insurance Card

 Auto Loan information

 DMV Registration Notices

 Interim Driver’s License

 Car Maintenance Receipt

Other Documents of Support

• Travel Information

• Pay Stubs

• Bills showing address

• Junk Mail

• Correspondence

 Letter from Mother-in-Law + Envelopes

• Photos

Affidavits

• Letter Regarding Relationship from Supervisor

• Letter Regarding Relationship from Friends

Is it going to be a big red flag that I don't have much covering the first year? (other than tax and lease information?)

Yes joint taxes.

I don't know why the heck I didn't start saving stuff as soon as we got here. I also didn't think about adding him to all the utility bills as I had already established accounts with my name and I should have known better from hanging out here.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see!!

your list looks quite good. Can you not request past statements from your bank and/or credit card companies to fill in some of the areas in which you feel weak?

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

On the bank statements, for some odd reason - even though I added him to the account and it was "joint" they didn't add him to the statement. They did send a few correspondence to us though that had both our names so I used that and also copied our checking account with both names.

I didn't add him to the credit accounts until he had established some credit so again, I have stuff from the 2nd year on those but not the first. I guess if I get an RFE I'll have to ask the bank to put something in writing saying he was joint as of blah blah date.
