Been reading through the I-134 stuff on the forums, but I'm still a little unsure.

I'm a student with 0.00 income, and my mother is the co-sponsor. When Nath comes over, he will be living with me and my parents for 3-7 months, until I find out where I'm going to grad school and we can get settled there.

On my form, should I write "N/A, K1 visa process for permanent residence," on my form since I can't really contribute anyway? On my mother's form, she checked yes, and she intends to provide room & board for 7 months.

I realize the consulate is mostly looking for the $$$ available to support him if something happens, but I just want to make this process as smooth as possible. My mom makes well over the 125% requirement, so we're not worried about that.

Any advice is appreciated!

Hiya

That damn question on the form is the bain of our lives, but I had my interview today and everything went swimmingly, so I guess my answer to that question on the form was the right one for the London embassy (where you're b/f will presumably be going, coming from Scotland and all).

BOTH you and the co-sponsor have to tick the 'YES' box, and then simply write "assistance with K1 visa" - simple as that, no need to go into specifics. They'll glean all the financial info they need from the supporting documentation submitted by your mum.

Thanks! Sounds about right.

And congratulations on your successful interview!!
