I sent my I-864 along with the DS-230. I had no idea I was supposed to send additional (civil documents) with the DS-230 :(

I now called NVC and they said they have not received the DS230 and that they sent a letter to the benificiary asking for additional documents. Is this normal? Was I supposed to send the documents along with the form?? They are going to have a supervisor check if the DS 230 is on file :( and that may take up to two more weeks!!! Should I resend the form with the documents or will that delay the whole process???? :help:

I believe you are going to IR1/CR1 route. It would be good if you post this question in that forum. There is a guide that you should follow for that visa - http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/..._live_in_the_US

You are supposed to send other documents with DS-230. I will leave upto other experienced users to answer your specific question but please follow the above guide to ease this process.

Since you didn't send the additional civil documents along with the DS-230, you will most likely receive an RFE for you to send them. Until that happens, you need to start collecting all required documents so you can have them ready for when the RFE arrives. They will send the RFE to the Choice of Agent, the person's name you wrote down on the DS-3032.

They say it may take up to 4 weeks to receive anything they send out when it reality it can take up to 2 weeks. I think there is a shortcut for the RFE coversheet that you can find in the National Visa Center forum. But you should never send them anything that they haven't requested or it will delay your process. Wait until they tell you what they need and then send them.

Thanks for the response Diana. The problem is that i made a huge mistake :bonk: We put his address in Peru as the choice of agent so it can take 4 weeks since they send everything via snail mail . So, I will have all of the documents by Monday of next week and I dont know if

1) I should start by changing the choice of agent

2) I should send the documents with out the RFE ????

WHAT DO I DO, I'M STARTING A FORUM WITH THIS QUESTIONS TO GATHER OPINIONS BUT I WILL REALLY APPRECITE YOUR ADVICE DIANA.
